Like him or not, he was the best fighter of the last 30 yrs, anyone that can beat the men he has beat in the manner in which he beat them is phenomenal. Hearns was phenomenal too tho, a true elite ATG. Both would dominate now, no sweat.
yeah it was very good zapata boxed well but i had chang winning by 3 points but i also scored 4 rounds even :yikes
Me and Flea both had Chang winning, but Flea knows someone who had Zapata winning which IMO is wrong but I can roughly see how. Its such an interesting clash of styles isnt it? and Chang is only 21 or soemthing ludicrous. Really need to watch this again. I never score an even round though.
that is the most i have scored even in one fight that i can remember for 21 he was amazing his wife must of been a brave woman running off with his money:yep
Its just such a great fight, in what other fight do you have the number 1 and 2 at the weight squaring off at their primes or close enough. Women, stealing from Chang :-(
last week i watched chang vs torres I i scored that 10-to chang ,1 to torres and 1 even. i have not seen the other torres fights but i cant believe chang apparently only won the second one by a md
He comes in out of shape in the rematch. That was probably the biggest criticism of him, his lack of dedication. He was burned out by an early age even by Flyweight standards.
Thats what I thought. Need to watch more Chang. When do you think he was passed it, when he gave up the title? or before that?
Just gotta say what a great thread this is, props to Ishypedia! These 100 plus posts so far are some of the most intelligent and well thought out string that we've ever had on ESB. This is exactly what the founders set out to do..make us think outside the box and deliver some insightful comments on various different fights. I absolutely luv when a family forum can replace my need for surfing news on countless boxing websites. Young GP, Kos, Ishy and Flea make me so proud.
You don't take compliments too well, do ya GP? Anyway I watched some old stuff of Mayweather Sr. and even in his fight with Leonard, he displayed signs of what was to become Little Floyd's signature style especially on the inside. Damn! that shoulder roll is deadly when a fighter can turn it around into an uppercut from the pocket, create space and unload with combo's. I went to a local gym last week and some of the youngsters were using the pendellum swing shoulder roll. Amazing!
I uysed to try that Mayweather shoulder roll but its hard to do, I sometimes do a wee shoulder roll but its more akin to Canzoneri or Toney
