what are you disagreeing with? He's stiff, he doesn't have much power, and he can't make adjustments, so he's pretty much one-dimensional.

What's your case?

 

I always thought Kessler had good power, but due to being so stiff, he couldn't land it on slick boxers.

 

I have to say, that there is a world of difference between the Kessler that fought up to the Calzaghe fight and the fighter that won some very inconvincing victories against nobodies like Sartison and Perdomo. He did have one decent win against an extremely shopworn Danilo Haussler, though.

The differences in hunger, speed, power, aggression and precision that we see between earlier Kessler fights and his fights the last two years are rather appalling.

Kessler has always had many injury problems - so maybe he is worn down despite his young age. But following Kessler in the danish press, it also seems that Kessler is enjoying his riches and is busy doing way too much other stuff than focusing on boxing.

He simply doesn't appear very hungry anymore. Can he recover his hunger with his back to the wall?

 

Can't just INVENT ideas like that when there's a CLEAR agenda to preserve Calzaghe's legacy by the people who say that sort of stuff. NEWSFLASH: Hanging with Calzaghe wasn't that tough. Beating Calzaghe was the accomplishment. Kessler, with is one right hand gave Calzaghe fits.

 

He was. Now he's just being lied for.

I'm a bit baffled by these comments.

 

I am not the least concerned about Calzaghes legacy. I really couldn't care less if Calzaghe was hailed as the greated thing since sliced bread or if he ends up with a legacy being a mediocre sissy slapper. So I have no agenda in that regards.

I am just stating my personal observation, that Kessler seems to be performing on a muh lower level than he did a couple of years ago and that this MIGHT have something to do with the fact, that he has had many injuries in his career, and that he seems to be living the life of a celebrity in Denmark (or Monaco - wherever he is at any given time).

I am not concluding that he is shot. I am just saying that he has his back to his wall and something to prove.

 

Right, so then you're picking Froch.

 

I think you're spot on, i'ts now or never!

 

Froch will beat Kessler. he has too much desire, too much self belief and too much heart. Add that to being a big puncher with an excellent chin, and you have a fighter who's VERY difficult to beat.

NB When Froch does eventually lose, it'll be to a slickster, not to the Kesslers and Abrahams

 

You have to be hungry when you're a boxer. If not, you cheat in training, you stop improving and if you stop improving, you... decline. I don't think he's physically shot but mentally, he seems to be somewhere else than in a boxing gym. Has his fight against Ward awakened him? We'll see against Froch. A younger Kessler would have stopped Froch easily, whatever some people think about Kessler being overrated.

As for his coach, he's the guy who didn't prepare Kessler to face a southpaw, even if everybody knew Ward would be switching. He's also the one who had no plan B. Finally, he's the one who isn't able to talk intelligently to his boxer between rounds.
