There's like 5 different champs in every division, so I must pose this question do those titles matter or is the ring the only legit title?

    there are no legit titles.

Even with the ring title, you can win it, defend it once every two years against some nobody, and they will still call you the champ.

It certainly carries more weight than the alphabets.

It carries more weight than the rest of the alphabet soup titles but it's still not completely legit. It doesn't follow lineage how it was meant to be passed down.

But even in the old days that was true. I think the ring is the only legit sole title, but the other belts mean something when unified, not alone.

An amateur national championship holds more weight than some of those belts

The Ring title is a commodity owned outright by Oscar De la Hoya. As much as I admire him, it is in no way an objective assessment of the state of a given weight class.

Yeah, it is. The magazine seems to have been compromised though.

There was a time last year when Nate Campbell had unified all of the lightweight belts, but Casamayor was the Ring champion because he beat Corrales, so it was unclear who had the most credible claim to being champion.

What does it matter if you collect up all the **** belts? They're still ****. :rofl Wow. Somebody made **** 3 or 5 times. Gee.

Pretty ****ing stupid. The SB's GIVE those belts to the guys they want to have them. MONEY, PUBLICITY, PAYOFFS, and PROFIT. The Ring championship has zero fees, and oftentimes, STILL, it seems like The Ring does what it can to keep anyone from having their stupid ****ing belt, for the most part.
