At 140 if this is 15 im taking Chavez by 13th or 14th stoppage, if its a 12 rounder this would be razor close decision that could go either way. Anything below that id take Chavez within 12 rounds especially at lightweight which i thought was Chavez best and prime weight. At 147 Id take Pac by hardfought but convincing decision.
How do you figure when Marquez arguably beat him twice and Morales out boxed him. Do you really believe that he would dominate Chavez, when he went life and deat with those 2?
Oh yeah sure buddy Chavez was naturally bigger, better chin(although Barreras was good) and bigger punch. Chavez was abigger better than Barrera this would have definitely made a difference.
Too a certain extent your half right he usually did beat you down before stoppage. But dont get it ****ed up:nono If Chavez caught you slipping you just might get KTFOD, he still had good one punch power.:yep
Theyre pretty even for me. Both top 20 ATGs Too many factors for and against each fighter. Lets leave it at that.
I'm the definitive Barrera fanboy, but Anarci's right. You simply cannot compare the two, mainly because Chavez actually possessed a really good right hand. Make no mistake, Marco was a two fisted fighter, but one of Julio's best weapons was his lead right hand. You'd have to think it'd be working over time against Manny, who was specifically vulnerable to the right hand down at 126 and 130. In addition to that is Chavez's superior beard, toughness, inside game, one punch power, and jesus, even combination punching. I stress that because Marco was simply outstanding in this regard, A+...but Julio was even more consistent. Simply, everything Marco could do, Chavez did better. I've always picked Chavez in this match-up because of a few reasons. We know Chavez will be going forward trying to get inside on Manny, and when have we ever seen Manny stray from a firefight? He almost invites one, and we've seen him being pushed back into the ropes on a number of occasions. Morales in 2005 was very successful at this, but you'd have to think one of the definitive inside fighters of the last 30 years, Julio Cesar Chavez, would get more work done. Chavez would be throwing in clusters, body and head, and although Manny won't be staying there all day, the body work will take its toll for the later rounds which I have no doubt will arrive in this match-up. The longer it goes on, the more the body work will tell. Good, competitive fight but Manny has never jabbed and moved from the outside for extended periods, he'll be going to war with Chavez and Julio is as tough as they come. I expect a close but clear points win. Manny never faced and beat an opponent Chavez wouldn't have beaten, including Cotto. A close fight too call.
Dont be a dick:nono They are both great fighters, quit being such a ******* and be honest for once. Picking Pac isnt so bad, but to act like Pac is a level above makes you A) Sound like you know nothing about boxing b) A biased ******* C) You never seen Chavez fight except when he was washed up D) you are ******ed
I'm gonna go with Chavez. I've seen 3 fights in his prime and I think the fighters back then were a lot better than the fighters of today.
Cotto had the more better jab, headmovement and footwork than Chavez. - Boom Boom. ...Oh...my...days!
