Never Knocked Down

    Which fighters never had a single official knock down scored against them for their entire careers?

    Stoppage losses don't matter just whether or not they tasted canvas.

    Not counting people like Oliver McCall and Vitali Klitschko whose careers haven't yet finished (despite already proving to have chins of absolute iron) I can't think of too many fighters who can make this boast,especially considering even Jake LaMotta got dropped once near the end.

    George Chuvalo springs immediately to mind and also Wayne McCullough (best contempory chin I've ever seen) as a couple of exceptions.Barry Michael from Australia is another that I don't think ever hit the floor in his career.

    Who are some others?

    I don't think Myung-Woo Yuh was ever knocked down, not seen evidence on film anyway, and nobody has ever attested to it from what I can remember.

    I know that Cobb was pretty close but considering the level of competition, I'm sure he was floored at some point.

    I'm far from sure but I don't think Gerry Penalosa was ever knocked down. I know you don't want active fighters, but it's worth keeping in mind? Chuvalo, I think had an unofficial knockdown against Bonavena. Also worth taking a note of. I'll have to think about this one.

    I have a gut feeling the Young Griffo himself may have remained on his drunken feet through every fight.

    Les Darcy is another definate to never touch the canvas. 99%

    Yeah I don't think Les was ever even as much as staggered as far as I know,which is amazing when you consider he was about 15 when he started boxing professionally.

    By the way did you get my message re the books and DVD Flamengo?

    Didn't Chuvalo have 2 unofficial knockdowns vs Bonanvena?

    But since they are unofficial they can't be counted no matter how legit they looked.

    When it comes to boxing im good at all the stuff:lol: Yey im sure Laporte has never been knocked down. Ive met Laporte and i complented him as having one of the greatest chins ever, he confirmed he has never been dropped as an amatuer or pro.
