Bowe looked rather poor vs Donald. Vitali did not, he stopped Donald. Vitali axed Hide in two. Bowe had some issues with Hide, and it took more rounds for him to win. Bowe lacked defense, and had a so-so type of chin.

Both of Vitali's looses are fight he took on less than 2 weeks notice, and an injury and cut is to blame, not ring ability.

Donald was undefeated and younger. Bowe battered him around the ring for a one sided beating. Donald came to shuffle skate not fight. Bowe was sloppy as hell against Hide, but knocking him down seven or eight times was hardly having issues. He did get caught by a shot that stunned him though.
Vitali lost to Lewis people forget that. He fought Lewis but he lost.

Look... This is simple........ You go to Philly or Brooklyn, the fans will vote for Bowe..... You go to Germany or Switzerland, the fans will support Klitschko........ It is a popularity / racial contest........ Politics are there, too....... WORD! But, I still like Klitschko........

Be as it may, the deal is still the same....... Germany has 'Bowe' fans, just like New York has "K" brother fans...... BUT! On the WHOLE, Germany will back Klitschko before Bowe....... I'm Danish / German living in the States, but I know my people.......
    :good

I'm not a fan of either fighter but I like he Klitschkos much more than Bowe and still pick him over Vitali. To be fair, most Germans won't even know who Bowe is.

If there's one thing people don't forget it's this fight and the outcome. It's been discussed on an ongoing basis for the last 6+ years.

As to the question, tough call. Bowe I think was a much better infighter, fought Holy at his prime and won the trilogy, but likely would have lost to Golota baring his low blows and was inconsistent in terms of being in shape. Vitali has dominated his opposition if an almost unprecidented fashion and was always in tip top shape, but has that contriversal loss against Byrd. Bowe ducked Lewis, Vitali lost in a war. But these are different versions of Lewis, as one was near prime and the other way past it. hmmm, gonna have to give the edge to Vitali, based on consistency and the amount of time he's been a top eshleon fighter, but it's a close enough call that if anyone gave he edge to Bowe it wouldn't bother me.

Huh? I think you need to re watch Bowe vs. Donald. Bowe was lethargic, and could not catch up to Donald. Donald ran, but was hardly hit. In no way shape or form did Bowe batter Donald around the in a beating.

The loss to Lewis means he had a cut. Vitali was up 4-2 on all cards. In fact no man ever won more than 2 conesusu rounds vs. Vitali, that's how good he has been. Sure he hasn't face the greatest oppositon, but the truth is a pirme Ali and a prime Holmes lost more rounds to lesser guys.

No way am I going to suffer through that fight again. You need to watch it again, it was a one sided skate off with Donald running the entire fight and managing to win one round, which was generous, he should have been dq'd for being a *****.

Vitali ranks higher because Bowe's prime was short, too many performances were sloppy, he became a fat slob and looked pathetic in his too beatings by Golata ...

Vitali , puting aside the very weird Byrd fight, has otherwise come to fight every night, in shape and conducted himself as a proud title holder ...

Head to head, say the Bowe of Holyfield 1 v.s. Vitali of Kirk Johnson, Bowe wrecks him ..
