Would surely be a serious war of attrition, but with both men possessing sturdy chins as well as boxing ability, I don't see a stoppage.

    So who wins the rounds?

Lynch was a strong Flyweight, who could hit with either hand. Peter Kane was a Chang-esque phenom himself, 19 years old and 45-0(32) (if I remember correctly) and according to some a humongous puncher. In the brief footage I have seen, Lynch deals with Kane well, breaking him down patiently before swarming all over him for the finish, taking the life out of him.

As has been done with Chang in hypotheticals with Flyweights, if we take him at his best and move him up a few lbs, how would he fare with Lynch. I think both men can accomodate each other for a tear up, and although I feel Chang can more than hold his own, I envision Lynch's harder punches seeing him through to a points decision. How would he fare with someone as strong and tough as Lynch, and how/when would either slow the pace down? Who wins at mid-range, Lynchs jab setting up the bombs or Changs loose jab and switch hitting stunting Lynch's rhythm? Lynch himself switch hits in the footage above.

The first few rounds would be immense IMO; punches in all directions, Chang landing four or five then Lynch firing back with one or two hard, slashing single punches. Then a more measured pace in the middle rounds with both men being very aggressive in bursts, before they tough it out over the last five rounds, neither of them wilting but both of them coming close to it at times. I just fancy Lynch to shade it with the more telling blows.

I'd say Lynch has a claim. Even so it's the best light-fly of alltime vs arguably the best flyweight of all time.

You owe it to yourself to watch some Chang. Our very own Addie has uploaded both Ohashi figths onto youtube in **** hot quality. There are a few more Chang fights on there, including (in fairly poor quality but an essential watch) the Tokashiki fight, which is ace.

3:25 for footage from the 1st Peter Kane fight, including a nice early knockdown from Lynch.

Out of the top handful of Flyweights Benny Lynch IMO is one of the forerunners to beat Chang.

His sharp precise, boxer-puncher skills could keep Chang at bay who at times was susceptible to straight punches. Lynch himself had a decent engine and a solid chin along with his concussive power that could hold the relentless Chang at bay.

I see a super fast paced bout with Chang perhaps swarming Lynch early but the firepower of Lynch eventually keeping Chang at bay for an amazing points win for the Glesga laddie.

    I see it similar.

Would be a great fight though, and if anyone has any insight as to a stylistic advanatge that Chang holds, I'm all ears.

Lynch is a fighter i'd like to see more of.I find him one of the toughest of the great Flyweights to assess. He looks a physical beast, but his overall style confounds me.

He's tough as ****, hits and you aren't changing his mind for him. I think he outfights Chang, just as GP said.

I've got his fight with Small Montana somewhere Mante, i was planning to upload is some time soon anyway, have you seen it?

What is it about him Mante? Or is it because of something you haven't been able to put your finger on yet?

After holiday I hope to accumulate enough cash to get extended hl's of both Lynch-Kane fights.

Kane is another elusive fighter (info wise) but no doubt very good. Shame there isn't any footage of him destroying anyone, as he apparently hit f'n hard.

Those are about the last qualities that come to mind when I watch Lynch. He seems a pure puncher with innate accuracy and defensive awareness, which is what allows him to get away with charging in and winging those power shots from all angles. Not many straight punches from what I've seen, which isn't very much admittedly.

i nearly started a chang vs kane thread the other day as have been told kane hit really hard and had close fights with lynch .so thought it would of been a good way of finding more out about kane .if he hit that hard and was naturaly bigger would he of caught chang and beat him

Yeah i've got it, and the Palmer fight and a few others, mostly H/L's.

I'll need to try and find them and have another look, i've not given him the time he deserves considering i'm scottish too. Most of my stuff is terribly organised right now though.

Lots of quality Scottish comic book writers, and boxing analysts. What is it about Scotland that makes these things crop up fairly frequently? Or it coincedental?

Does anyone have any info on Kane?

I thought he had some pretty decent boxing skills upon watching him. His right hand was mostly thrown straight and he is one of the best boxer-punchers I have ever seen on film. He did at times wing away but I felt everything was composed, sharp and precise when doing so.
