haha Pac is making well more than 75 000 for his contract. im sure his signature would be as valuable to them in the asian market as anyone. i think only kobe, lebron,federer and tiger would be more valuable to them. and of course jordan. but his name is more valuable to them than the williams sisters, lance armstrong, whoever else is in their stalbe nowadays.

I would normally agree with you but when we refer to "x"-American we are usually referring to 1st, 2nd and probably 3rd generation descendants. African-Americans that have their roots from slaves are just Americans, IMO. We don't call the modern descendants of George Washington British-Americans do we?

I also see calling slave Africans descendants "African-American" as limiting - as if we never moved on from 1770s. As if they have never really became 100% Americans. As if their contribution to building this country is all about the slave labor. There are Italian and Irish descendants that arrived in America more than 100 years after the descendants of 'African-American' and we don't call them Irish-American. They are JUST Americans.

We need to let go of the 'African-American' when we are talking about black Americans, especially those with descendants of slaves. They are just Americans. At best it is ignorant. At the very worst it is insulting to the blood and tears of African-American slaves. They did not build help this country to be half Americans.
African-American should be left to recent descendants of African immigrants - just like Asian-Americans, French-Americans, Mexican-Americans. etc.
