what are your thoughts on the fight, bisping was able to take him down at will at times but silvas striking (though pretty sloppy) was a big factor, even though bisping countered well.. regardless of your 'hamill' and bisping is 'this and that' **** i thought he showed immense improvement and deserves a lot of respect for that performance, who did you give the first 2 rounds too? id like to see a rematch
Bisping seems to think that doing neat, tidy, safe work is enough. He didn't really go for it, he didn't have the courage to want it enough, whereas Wanderlei did, and that was the difference. Wanderlei deserved to win.
Bisping plays it to safe as usual after the Henderson fight he said he is going back to the old Bisping, which I thought he did in his previous fight, but against Wandy went back to safety first running around the cage not engaging and then like a ***** he is moaned robbery etc etc, how the **** can you call robbery when you dont do enough?
i think bisping still has a hang up from the henderson fight couple that with the fact that he had too much respect for silva and you could see why he was hesitant to commit i take positives from it though. he looked pretty good.
I do not think he ever said it was a robbery - he stated that he thought he lost the fight because of the end of the 3rd round, which I kind of agree with TBH. He was just annoyed with himself because he knew the fight was there for the taking and he threw it away.
The fight was very close and I would'nt have been bothered if Bisping got the win. He stood his ground and tried to stay in the pocket much more than he did when he was constantly on the back foot vs Leben and Hendo. Wand could have finished this fight though and should have been more aggressive and not let Bisping see the right hand comeing so easily. I was impressed with Wands stamina considering the weight cut but his vice like clinch and his evil knee strikes are a thing of the past. I don't think he's even strong in the clinch anymore and hes easier to takedown. Wand used to hurt you with punches then be so, so strong with his Thai plumb that there was almost no escape.
He thought that he won the fight which no way he did, the fight was there for the taking for Wandy not Bisping bit more pressure from Wanky he could of had Bidping out of there.
Bisping knew he lost the fight because of how he ended the last round and also how he ended the other round when Wandy went for a burst. He looked good and still improving.
robbery? so what if he thinks he won,u can see why he would think so!facts are he refused to commit hence he only has himself to blame,i wouldnt have been crying robbery nor would i have been shocked if bisping had got the nod!
Besides the couple of takedowns Bisping got he barley did anything note worthy exept for one right hand that made Wandy back up. Those 2 early takedowns in the 1st had Wanderlei back on his feet within secounds and Wanderlei had him hurt and retreating at the end of that round. Wanderlei landed alot of strong leg kicks and punches in the secound they both scored one clean takedown then Wanderlei attempted a Guillotine on the 2nd Bisping takedown which IMO cancels out a takedown. Wanderlei was executing it wrong but it still has Bisping in a bit of trouble. Wanderlei easily won round 3 and basically knocked him out but needed 2-3 more secounds to finish it.
i thought bisping showed courage despite being intimidated and handled himself well. i didnt have him winning the fight but i dont see that loss as anything to be ashamed of considering wand is one of the scariest ****ers out there.
Bisping was tentative and too respectful of Silva. Bisping has good striking and takedowns etc. but cannot get it up for the big fights. The greatest guys shine when they are against stellar opposition, they stop at nothing whereas Bisping was too scared to pull the trigger because it seemed he feared Wandy's power. Winston Churchill said it best: "Kites rise highest against the wind, not with it."
