A prime Haye at Cruiserweight was Undisputed World Champion. He did it in 20 fights.

A prime Carl Thompson was getting beat by Ezra Sellers and Johnny Nelson for WBO titles.

    Hayes C.V. is good

    Mormeck TKO 7
    Maccarenelli TKO 2
    Valuev W Points 12

But nowhere on his record has he beaten a real top star fighter

Yes Hayes C.V is undoubtly more impressive with a WBA Heavweight title to boot

I'm just feeling - more styles make fights

Thompson has the grit to give himself a good chance of victory drag Haye into the kind of fight that glass chinned Maccarenelli was unable to make it.

I wouldn't say he's a poor finisher, but he's certainly sloppy and leaves himself ridiculously open. I thought that was pretty much accepted.

of course people on here are going to like Haye.

from a fans point of view he is pretty much the perfect fighter.

    1) Wasnt with Frank Warren
    2) Always chasing big fights, toughest opponents
    3) Fast
    4) Vulnruble
    5) HUGE puncher
    6) Talks a good game
    7) Looks good

you can pick holes in Haye all you like and theres no denying his faults. But his skills can be under rated as he has the power to just bang people out. and saying he is a poor finisher is just dumb, his KO record speaks for itself he is in the top 5 of active fighters.

When it comes to finishing, Haye cannot be faulted.

    Valero on the other hand...........

there are no stars at Cruiserweight. Toney and Holyfield are the only A List fighters to win titles in that division and they were long gone by the time Haye came along.

Mormeck and Macceranelli were the biggest and toughest fights for him at Cruiser. He expeose Enzo and Mormeck was a style nightmare for him, he still got the KO.

Valuev was a quality performance. To go to germany and get a decision, what more can you do.

The Klitscko's would be huge scalps if they happen.

If you look at the number of reigning world champions, future world champions, former world champions and world title challangers Haye has beaten, his record is one of the best of any active boxer at the moment.

i never said it was a skill.

its something that makes his fight attractive to fans. he is either gonna knock the guy out or get knocked out.

Nigel Benn, Ricky Hatton and Naz Hammed. The 3 most popular fighters of the past 25 years. All extremly vulnrable and that was part of the appeal.

27 ko's shows nothing about his power, especially when aesthetically he doesn't appear a massive puncher.

    Lamar Clark. 'Nuff said.

I think Haye can. He's not a poor finisher but he can get a big overeager and start swinging wide-ass hooks. See Enzo and Frag fights :deal. Against Enzo his punches were coming from a mile away but Enzo was already gone by that point. Haye can be even more lethal if he shortens up and picks his punches better when he has his opponent hurt.

    Just my opinion of course.
