With that avatar you might as well get a tattoo on your forehead that says "I'm ****ing biased."

Ali was overweight with a potbelly going on and how much inactivity?

Marciano trained fanatically for the computer match up, as opposed to Ali being overweight with a potbelly going on and how much inactivity?

Of course, we don't hear these multi-faceted parts of the discussion from you. :blood

I have the comp fight on DVD.... Marciano did train his ass off, but at age 46 and having lost like 50 pounds in training, Marciano was listed at 200 pounds come show time.... Regardless of his age and how hard he trained in 1969, Marciano appeared a little tubby as well..... Marciano didn't show up at a prime 187 to 191 pounds for Ali.....

Yes.. It is true Ali was also heavy for the comp fight...... He was listed at 220 I believe....

Who really knows how accurate them weights were?

Carmen Vingo is not what I'd consider a giant in the sense of the modern post 60s heavies........ Other than that, I'm not sure who else Marciano fought that was 6' 3" or more tall and a solid 215 or more pounds with skills......

I actually think this would be a great fight in the early going, Marciano would have to sustain some heavy artillery from Bruno but I think he gets through it and after suffering some scary moments he takes over in the second half of the fight and stops Bruno late.

Yeah close fight but I think Marciano still has a better chance of beating Bruno than Bowe.

Bruno is only 3 inches taller than the six foot Walcott, give or take. "Midget" is a bit of a stretch, were not talking about Lewis or Vitali here. 74" inch overall wingspan or not, Jersey Joe had fairly long arms himself.

Walcott also has a faster, sharper jab than Bruno.... and one of the best right hand leads in history.

I don't think Marciano was all that easy to hit with the jab. The reason Walcott could is because he set Marciano up with feints, movements. Marciano's crouch doesn't work when he doesn't know when to crouch.

Bruno had a great jab but he was somewhat robotic in his movements and fairly predictable. However with his reach he would still land the jab on Marciano who tries to aggressively press forward.

The question is whether Bruno can last under the pressure. The men that got to him were bigger than Marciano but he was suspectible to overhand rights and Marciano hit as hard as anybody with the overhand right. I think I'd still favour Marciano despite a significant size advantage for Frank Bruno. But he'd have to walk through punishment to gain a victory.

I think if Marciano fought men the size of Bruno in all his fights then he would not have lasted as long as he did, win or lose.

So a 15 year removed 46 year old Marciano would be sharper than a late 20's something Ali? Should we really factor recent training?

You have a right to your opinion but this would be a lot tougher matchup than you might think for the Rock.:nono

I do agree that he would fare better against the 2nd tier super heavies but only those who had no jab and couldn't box. Rahman is a good example of this and I do believe Marciano would beat him handily. Another example would be Tommy Morrison. Marciano would destroy THOSE 2nd tier Superheavies. Ray Mercer, however, could and would outbox Marciano. He'd eat Marciano's punches like Mentos .

Have you ever studied Rahman's career? I don't see how you can say he couldn't box. For example, he was clearly outboxing Tua in their first match before he got caught.
