Yeah? i got nothing against Haye but i do feel he is a poor finisher. 5.35 ..........Haye looks like a 5 year old giving it to his big brother who he has finally had the courage to stand upto after numerous lickings throughout his life [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WrnjuQY9rek[/ame] Just take a look how square Haye is when he starts letting both hands go. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rtvGY3F_JmM[/ame] Im not calling the Barrett KD legit but Haye did go down because he was being wild and got caught square again, look at his feet before he goes down, matter of fact look how wreckless he is throughout these HL's and these guys think he is the most skilled in Britain?:rofl
Everyone makes mistakes. You seem to forget Napa lost (legitimately) for the Euro title about a year ago. But yeah, Haye was square when knocked down against Barrett. Very, very small examples. He's skilled enough to be 'World class', something Napa has never got to.
This is a quote from a previous poster and it illustrates my point perfectly, Haye has lots of KO finishes because he can bang not because he necessarily a good finisher, that said Mike Tyson was not just a puncher he was a terrific finisher to. A good finisher is not just a guy who has a good KO% This is a good finisher 1.06 [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UvQ89GqYz-U[/ame] This is a poor finisher 1.43 [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aQSuW_iC7OY[/ame] [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UvQ89GqYz-U[/ame]
Comparing Haye to the greatest heavyweight finisher of all time is like me putting a vid up of Napa and a vid of Miguel Canto. At the end of the day, different skillsets aside, Haye is better than Napa. Just because he doesn't have much power, doesn't make him uber-skilled. If he was that good, he wouldn't still be at British level, despite the out of the ring problems he has suffered I'd say Booth is better, despite Napa having beaten him. But I'll stick with Haye, despite video evidence to him making some mistakes. You've shown some evidence of Haye being sloppy, but there are fights when he's performed better. Either way, he's no Valero, as his competition shows.
I agree with that Tyson was something extraordinary .... in his prime speed and power I have not seen, his opponents didnt hang around ... a true legend :good
I already accept that Haye is a better fighter than Napa. Im not comparing them anymore than the other poster was when he put them into the same sentencene, but im showing the difference between what i consider a poor finisher an excellent finisher, think about it, if i post a vid of an decent/average finisher you gonna say well i dont see much disparity between the two, so i will take an example from one of the very best finishers to illustrate the accuracy and poise that is required to be considered a good finisher.
In the Enzo fight, Haye new he wasnt in any danger what so ever, so he could afford to be a bit reckless on order to get the big shots in. Also remember he was cut and paranoyed about the ref stopping the fight. He took a risk and it paid off. A bad finisher is a fighter that has someone hurt and then doesnt stop them. Haye has only ever hurt one opponent and not stopped them and that was Valuev with his super human freak head with 1 minute to go in the 12th. Calling Valero and Haye bad finishers is just dumb
# Exactly. You'd think haye was always sloppy. It's like saying 'Foreman didn't have a good chin' and just posting up the Ali and Lyell fights. Everyone makes mistakes. Haye is good, but to be honest there are no 'Elite' level technicians around at the moment. Gavin is my best bet to 'make the leap'. Seems real quality.
Rob, Valero is not a good finisher, not the biggest puncher aesthetically. He can start a stoppage well, but then slaps them to death. Ridiculous, especially for a supposed 'destroyer' like everyone else is making him out to be. I think Lamont Peterson will box his head off, but even if Valero wins its hardly a big step up is it? I think Arum is giving him average opponents until he's in a position to be sacrificed. Don't sound like an 'Elite puncher' to me as some are making him out to be.
Like he does not do that almost everytime he gets someone hurt, there are at least 5 instances of him doing this. Thats true, maybe im being a bit harsh on him calling him a poor finisher but i still dont think he is a good finisher tbh. I never mentioned Valero.
If Mosquera is C level then B level must be Terminators/Predators etc and A level would be your average X Men
You think Mosquera was 'elite' because he had a bauble round his waist I assume? He's no Escalera put it this way. Nor was he a Soto or Guzman, who were also at 130 the same time as Valero. Now he's moving up again to fight another contender in Peterson. Valero=Most overrated fighter in boxing right now.
