Scott Gammer (albeit he wasn't a 'beast' :yep).

Edit: Speaking of Brit heavy's, Pele Reid as well.

Don't know if this counts, but how about Mbulelo Botile? Looked like a million bucks against Ingle (had only suffered one loss before that, to the very good Tim Austin), but the tragedy of that fight seems to have affected him. Lost three in a row (over the space of four or five years) and retired.

Kiko Martinez...ok..ok wasn't ever gonna be a main player at world level but at European he looked a beast...blitzed Dunne in a round and had a record of battering all in his path. He then came up against a man in Rendall Munroe who had his number and since losing twice to him has lost again and really seems to be just another european banger who is a gatekeeper.

:good good shout..tragedy seems to effect the man who laid the hands on the victims. Never there faults but they seem to never recover as men or boxers...such a shame..but i can understand there feelings.

Alfonso Zamora was never the same following his crushing loss to bitter rival Carlos Zarate.

    I found a good one:deal

    Ivan "Choco" Hernandez.

Looked like the next big thing down at Super Flyweight after wrenching the title away from Mark "Too Sharp" Johnson by KO, when Choco was only 21 or 22 years of age.

Two fights down the line he runs into Fernando Montiel (who Johnson had beat for the title). In another refutation of the A beats B, B beats C, so A should beat C argument, Montiel punishes Choco badly to the body and stops him in the 7th round. Hernandez hasn't been the same since; he's still only 27, but he looks done at world level.

Steve Molitor Certainly hasn't looked at all the same since he got destroyed by Cabellero. I hope he does well in his title fight (and probably title reign). But honestly the last fight I saw him get dropped by some no hoper so I can't say he has much left.

Yeah i read about his last performances. He was always a very confident fighter who talked like he could beat anyone...he was blown away pretty much and i was shocked at way Cabellero dealt with him. I hope he can come back because he was slick and lovely to watch even if he isn't the best in his division he's still world class but as you say he's been struggling since..real shame.

Hes looked pretty good though, and the Knockdown wasnt a bad one, just a lucky punch IMO.

He still looks sharp and a good counter puncher.

Fair play Mandanda :good let me know what you thought of it mate.

It's a quality scrap between two of my top 3 Bantamweight punchers (Zamoras up there due to the sheer power he generates, horrific)

I think their records going in were 28-0(28) and 45-0(43)

Greg, they guy in the undies and vest gets slaughtered by the Mexican old bill :rofl

Going back to the 60's there was Frankie "The Tiger" Taylor, gold medallist in the 61, Europeans. Not many British fighters have achieved that! He Got off to a great start, big box office. 2 huge domestic fights with Lennie the Lion Williams from Wales. He was all set up for a challenge to Howard Winstone' which would of been even bigger when he ran into future World Lightweight champ, Carlos Teo Cruz. he lost that on points and was then KO'd by Dos Santos in 2. One more winning fight and he called it a day at 23. He was the boxing correspondent for the Sunday People for years after his retirement.
