Most people say you should try to recreate the success Castillo has in his first fight with Mayweather but I am thinking the first 4 rounds of Judah-Mayweather would be a better blueprint for Mosely.

Interesting vid below highlighting the success Juhah had in his fight with Mayweather. Thoughts?

The only thing that video showed is that Judah would have been an insane total package - too bad he is an ill tempered spoilt brat who cant control his tantrums

He did go to the body quite often when winning the rounds early on. I wish he had the heart and confidence to carry it on and follow up on that straight left to the body with a right hook to the head. Floyd dropped his left hand as the body shots landed almost all the time.

Shane's going to have to borrow a little bit of everything. Floyd adapts very quickly and if Shane thinks one strategy is going to lead him to the pay windah, he's in for a long and rough night.

I don't know about Mosley having success with that kind of strategy unless he can start putting some real authority behind his jab.

That's more of a gameplan for Pac to follow. The thing is its not only Zab who got tired but also Floyd who took away Zab's jab eventually and closed the gap on him which made his gameplan not work.

Well they are different fighters...I think Zab is a shade quicker and is more awkward with his southpaw stance. In the past Floyd has been a little more aggressive against the southpaws he has faced, I dont see him standing his ground as much against Shane.

Shanes got to do whats natural to him...but I feel he can take a leaf out of the book of all the fighters that have troubled Floyd in one way or another.

Flurry when he has Floyd on the ropes like Hoya did...even if its ineffective it can swing a close round in your favour, there is a good chance it will fool at least one judge.

Both Castillo and Judah had some success to the body...its almost futile trying the nail Floyd to the head. And I rate Shane a more brutal body puncher then either of those two.

Floyd UD though...thats how Im seeing it..but Ill be cheering for Shane from start to finish.

    This.

The video says, "Let's be honest, Judah took Mayweather to school before he tired out". Maybe; but it looked more to me like it took Mayweather a few rounds to figure out what he had to worry about and what he didn't have to worry about, then adjusted. Plus, even in those clips, supposedly showing Judah's best moments, Mayweather catches him a few times on the counter.

I think Mosely's best option is to land hard. Floyd really doesn't like getting hit (who does?), but the nastier you do it, the less adventurous he becomes. Easier said than done, though.

Trying to ko Floyd can be thrown out the window, but I think Mosley going for Floyd's body with jabs and straight rights instead of hooking would give him greater success. Shane's definitely going to have to be the aggressor and start first AND be last on his exchanges. Some head movement to avoid Floyds jabs and make Floyd come forward getting him out of his comfort zone wouldn't hurt either.

Mosley isn't a southpaw, but that doesn't mean he can't confuse Floyd. If Mosley makes it a snoozer the first rounds and even with the crowd booing, he can go after Floyd the last 15-10 seconds of the fight or steal some rounds and at some point force Floyd to fight. I think Shane should make bodypunching his first priority, but should not negate combination to the head as well. If he just resorts to bodypunching Floyd will know what to expect and should read him, but finding the body is easier than his head.

I do think he should review the Judah blueprint carefully, but instead of applying anything similar to that for the first rounds, he should try it for the last 5-6 rounds, which are the most important. He's got to remember, Floyd is a slow starter anyways and with the exception of the Marquez fight, he won't be looking to score early in the fight anyways. Winning the last 5-6 rounds is what Floyd usually looks for and what Mosley should prevent Floyd from doing at all costs and save his best for last.

Sure, he should employ the Judah low blow and hit behind the head tactic, perhaps throw in the Froch Body slam tactic for good measure. Then Roger Mayweather and Co. Storm the ring, Floyd gets DQ'd and Shane has successfully swam without getting wet.

with all those body punches floyd should have tired faster. He is probobly on roids that time. He nows its effect and how to go around the testing system. Mosley doesnt have that quick hands anymore compared to judah, though mayweather lost some speed as well. Body punches seems to be effective but if FMJ doesnt respect your punch then watch out for that check hook

when i see the judah highlights of this fight- i think that this is how pernell whitaker would have made floyd look- but for 12 rounds, instead of 3. floyd is a great great fighter- but he s far from perfect, hes fought against relatviely weak opposition in a weak era. put him against the truly great welters of all time- and i dont think he s as great as what people make out.
