If both retired today who is ranked higher Riddick Bowe or Vitali K?

Bowe's win over Donald is about on par with Vitali's win over Johnson. The ability was obviously there but he was just 16-0 with everyone asking who the **** is this guy?

Like I stated earlier, Bowe will get his biggest # of votes here in the States, but on a global basis, Vitali Klit will be remembered more kindly over the years / decades' to come.... Vitali Klit is more physically stable and a heluva lot more photogenic than that of Riddick "Ridiculous" Bowe.... Cheerio..... Yo.....

kills me to say it because i dont enjoy whatching him but klit has to be rated higher. Klit is seen as the best HW in the world for some time now, hes the one to beat and this was never the case with bowe in my opinion. If it was the case how long was it for? until bowe lost to the guy hhe edged on pts?
when bowe was champ he beat holyfield- at that time people were saying he was lucky tyson was in prison, then lewis came along and ruined the last guy to push tyson- he was the guy to beat then and bowe did not want to know.
Klit did not beat lewis but he retired him which ever way you look at it. I know this sucks but there you are..

I dont know how this thread got where it has, Vitali has done a ton more than Bowe.
I guess you guys know a lot but geez, Vitali would be one of the greats but for injury and I dont even like the guy or his brother. Bowe went 2/3 with Holyfield, made a couple of creampuff defences but VK has made more defences, looked more dominant in doing so and would probably not have been outboxed, less hurt, by Holyfield

 

No, Vitali's resume is ****-weak. The list of men he has beat is about the same as those Bowe beat if you take Holyfield away.

People overlook the fact that Vitali fights crappy opponents.

 

He makes them crappy, Kirk Johnson and a couple others would give Bowe all he could handle

 

Kirk Johnson stepped into the ring with Vitali Klitschko weighing 260 pounds, looking ridiculous as if he hadn't bothered training at all. Just a fat guy showing up for a payday.

A prime Riddick Bowe would have destroyed that Johnson like he destroyed men like Dokes and Ferguson.

 

Bowe never defended against anyone good apart from Holyfield who he went life and death with, Vitali has made more defences, beat up Lennox Lewis like noone has, and never been in trouble (apart from Lewis, who of course Kod Bowe in amateurs which is somewhat irrelevant)

Of course he didnt fancy the job against Lewis either whereas Vitali wants to prove himself against everyone

Yeah whatever, Im a bit drunk, but you know that Vitali vs Bowe would only end one way, messily for Bowe. But heavyweights are more powerful even since Bowe's day I guess.

Achievements aside, I cant rank Bowe higher because as a UK/USA neutral it really stunk how he appeared even at the time to be doing everything he could to run from Lewis. He and Rock Newman. True or not, thats how it appeared. Thats one thing Vitali hasnt been accused of.

 

Lewis won the 5th and the 6th. The tide of the fight was definitly turning.

 

No. Vitali was seen as the best aftern Lewis retired up to the point he retired. Wlad is seen as he best right now, not his brother.
