In another thread, it’s been discussed whether Khan would get a little respect if he manages to knock the impressively chinned Paulie Malignaggi out. Some agreed that being a pretty tricky task to do, yes they will be impressed if Khan actually manages to stop him.

But more interestingly, some of the posters stated they would be far more impressed if he fights and beats the big punchers of the division. Rightly so, I’d be very impressed too. But to the people who say this, I would just like to know exactly what you mean by this...

Do you mean.... “Khan will get my respect if he can utilize his supposed improved defence, and outbox the dangerous, the aggressive, and the power punchers of his division”

Or do you mean.... “Khan will get my respect, if he manages to stand toe to toe with the dangerous, the aggressive, and the power punchers of his division, and beat them in the process. I’d like to see him take a good shot.”

Now of course many of you would say both. But lets face it, he’s got a hopeless chin, and God just hasn’t given him the tools to perform the second scenario for you.

    Which only leaves the former.
Now would you be content with this? Would this be enough to impress you?

Beating Malignaggie would be a good start. I remember how many threads there were claiming Paulie was robbed against Diaz and then he went on to win the rematch. Now that Khan is fighting him all of a sudden he is **** or he will knock Khan out.

Personally I think he is up against it with PM. Should he go on to win, I'd like to see him in with a puncher and see if he can nulify the attacks and go on to win.

I'd be more impressed with the first scenario. He takes on Maidana next (if he gets past Malignaggi), avoids the big punches and outboxs him, possibly with a late TKO.
Like you said, it doesn't make sense if people state they want to see if he can take the big punches and trade with the KO artists. He doesn't have the chin for it, he would most likely be knocked out again.

    We need to honest here

I would certainly say Paulie is in the top 8 140 fighters in the world, maybe higher considering pacquaio isnt 140 anymore and hatton looks finished.

It would be impressive if khan comprehensibly beats paulie regardless of the ko, only haters would say paulie was cherry picked. he is a good boxer, nobody can deny that

    think of it this way

the bar for redemption for khan must reach 100

beating paulie takes it up to 80 for me, beating a big puncher will then take it to 100

He can impress me by getting in there with a legit power puncher and showing us what he has learned from Roach and Company.

    That would answer everything.

If he actually give about 3 free shots to fully loaded
Margarito and don't even blink in the process.

I'm not fussed about the power of the opposition he faces, just the quality.
Holt, Alexander, Bradley. None of which are big punchers, but if those were his next three fights I'd have no complaints.

It will be interesting to see how he handles a big puncher though.
He's only 23 so it'll happen at some point.

Why would anybody be impressed with him beating somebody that could hit hard but couldn't box for ****? I don't get that at all. Its all about boxing ability, I think him getting soundly beat over 12 rounds would be a bigger loss then getting knocked out by a big hitter that did it because he got a lucky shot on a suspect chin. Its a joke.
