Naw he wouldn't toy with Manny like he did Marquez not at all. Marquez needs more time to adjust to the weight I'm really interested to see him his next time out because i really do think he does have a lot left.

Well Kim, when you want to fight a WW champion, you fight them at WW. You fight them at their best weight. They should not have to bend over to appease someone moving up in weight. The guy moving up, WANTS THE BELT YOU HAVE! The guy moving up should appease to the demands of the champion. If he didn't want to fight cotto at his best weight, then he should not have fought him. Of course he is bigger, but you have to expect this if you are moving up to fight the champion or a title holder at that weight! Pac may have been a bigger star than cotto, but if you are not going to fight them at their best then don't do it. The difference in this is that Cotto actually had a belt.

    2. Of course Marquez had a choice. That is ridiculous to say he didn't. He did NOT have to fight Mayweather at 147, if he did not want too. His hands were not tied behind his back. What you are describing is not being forced into a fight. That wasn't a result of Mexican pride, it was a result of money and that he believed in himself. Mexican pride does not equate stupidity, JMM believed in himself. That is not a big deal to me... what is a big deal is that Mayweather never intended to make weight anyways.

again it was only Roach and Arum who said that march is too soon.
and weren't you the same person that said we can just overlook what Roach says cuz he basically contradicts himself everyday?

in the end Pac agreed to the march 13 date, and Floyd had to think of another deal that will make Pac not like the contract, hence the drug testing issue

    :good

Shane by KO. Only way I see Shane winning, Floyd running and pot-shotting would win him the fight even if he only lands one good shot. Shane can't win this one by UD, he better not leave the decision to the judges. :nono

    i agree

before any starts pointing out that in boxing you have weight classes....i fully understand that....

but pac making cotto come down in weight so he can try to take his welter strap...is like teams making albert haynesworth come down to 320 on sundays because their center is only 300lbs and their guards avs 315.....

you wanna play with the big boys and get all the money and accolades....then play by the rules

    1. well Pac got a lot of heat because of asking Cotto to fight at 145, and now he's fighting a true welterweight at 147. so hopefully no excuses this time.

    2. i won't argue with you about the pride thing.. i'm an asian and like mexicans we have a lot of pride, I'm just thinking that if i'm in JMMs position it will be a factor for me not to back of the fight. specialy when mexican boxing is on it's last legs, and i'm the only one great mexican left. what would the mexican people who is all about pride say about me if i back off just because of 2 pounds. but well.. if that's your opinion, i respect that.

roach &arum=pacs people...i did say "pacs people" right???

and i did say we can overlook what roach says.....but the bottom line is pacs people cant ever say the same thing...they always contradict themselves or one another on any given day.....

which..."in the end"....should make you suspicious as to who backed out of the fight....

theres is tons of money at stake whenever pac fights...and tons of money flowing through his camp....between himself, his advisor, his crew, his trainer, and promoter....youd think theyd be able to do a better job of getting on the same page

It's about time...he should have fought everyone he's faced thus far at 147 I mean him beating Delahoya was the greatest thing since sliced bread:-( only to run back down to 140 smack Hatton up and then demand catchweights...
