Which dominant champs consistently took the safe route to victory

We've seen some dominant safety first champs, who were they?

What do you mean by dominant? Dominant and savety first in a fight or throughout their career?

 

I cant think of too many fighters that became safety first and dominant after they won the title? Maybe Lennox Lewis. He could have probably stopped Tyson earlier, Tua earlier and possibly Holyfield had he turned it up. Who else?

monzon to a degree. not in terms of opposition necessarily but he had a meticulous and methodical manner to his victories. he was safe in the sense that he controlled virtually every aspect of his fights and rarely took chances. when things did not go to plan (valdez, briscoe 1) he did not have an easy time

Monzon did as little as necessary to win the second Griffith bout, but remember, it was his first bout since being shot..and he performed in a very different manner the previous year in defeating Bennie Briscoe..he could have just jabbed, held and boxed conservatively for the remainder of the fight and would have won, but he traded with Briscoe and upped his game to that of a great fighter in that one.

Having Lennox Lewis on this is a nonsense

 

Why? Could he not have upped his output and took Tyson out quicker? Tua at one point was looking to quit, yet he took the safer route to victory. Same with Holyfield. Had he pushed a little harder me might have been able to stop Holyfield, who had and went on to look like **** against lessor opposition. He took the safe route in most of his higher profile fights.
