Why are people writing off Foremen & assuming Cotto will win easily?! I'm sick of it!

Because 90% of the muppets on here know **** all about boxing the sport
and comment on boxing the fraternity without having basic and fundamental understanding of styles. Foreman presents a nightmare for cotto, and i've been telling this to ESB'ers ever since the fight was brought up. If foreman can repeat his performance that he had against
santos then the cotto fight won't even be close. Yuri is too fast and rangy for cotto to catch. Miguel's jab will fall short and it will be impossible to walk the jewish kid down. Foreman will fire off from his comfort zone while cotto falls short all night. Plus, santos hits way harder than cotto, and the shots santos did land on yuri had no effect. Cotto has 0 chance to win this fight. Arum is cashing out on the rican. Damn shame on arum!
Classless way to treat a great man and fighter like the esteemed miguel cotto.

do you know how overweight santos was before the fight with foreman? he didn't have anything in the tank when he stepped into the ring and he barely threw a decent punch all night. that was one of the worst performances i've ever seen. cotto will look absolutely nothing like santos did in that fight.

Foreman's reach is shoter than Margarito's and Cotto had no problem finding him until he gassed late. You're kidding yourself if you think Cotto can't walk Foreman down. I agree that putting the fight together looks like Arum is cashing out on Cotto and setting up Foreman to make him some money down the road but I don't think it is that simple. You can't use the Santos fight as a barometer. He looked like he woke up in a ditch that morning and rocked up to the fight on a whim. Foreman still didn't manage a convincing win.

You might be right in saying Foreman could very well win, he may. To me, thi sfight is a toss up. I wouldn't use Santos as a barometer for this fight. Santos was lethargic, disinterested and out of shape that night. He was ripe for the picking and Yuri picked him apart. Cotto is an altogether different animal.

Foreman's combo of size advantage and speed might prove too much for Cotto, but Cotto may go back to his pressure ways, as Foreman doesn't have the kind of power to keep Cotto at bay. If he goes back to his patented body attack, he may wear Foreman out. that's why they fight. It should be a good fight and a good test for both. I give both guys credit, its a challenging fight.

exactly. foreman is just the kind of fighter cotto looks good fighting. foreman is an awesome boxer, but without any power, he might just get battered by cotto.

I agree with this but I don't know how hard he is trying at it. I just think that he's not very smart.

Seeing from the thread responses so far, it's obvious your opinions r not very popular, anyways, a guy that thinks Cotto was given GIFT decisions against Clottey & Mosley either just hates (most likely scenario) ,doesn't know too much about boxing, or just spends his weekly lunch money in some funky herbs/pills while skipping school. BTW, I agree with you, we'll never see Cotto in Canasta NY, or any other boxer 4 that matter... CANASTA??? Where the f**k is that?

In response to the 3 boldened sentences.
    1. No. i'm not. I know that santos wasn't 100% in there, but cotto
is no PBF in the speed dept, so he will be the much slower man.
    2. I can use santos as a barometer. Yes, santos isn't in cotto's class, but
he is much stronger and a better puncher. Cotto is known for using
strength and power as an advanatge in this fight.
    3. Um........foreman, with the Kd's counting as extra points shut out santos. Don't think you watched the fight. You must've been talking
with your friends and drinking on the undercards of the pac/cotto
    fight.

Foreman's feet alone will keep him away from cotto's plodding attack.
If they meet i promise foreman wins a comfy UD.

Normally it would play out like that and i would give cotto the huge fav, but foreman isn't interested in a crowd pleasing fight, but has an ability
to stay away from guys while taking rounds. He's so much faster than cotto and can keep away even from the body attack. Also, 154 is a little too far north for cotto. Even a 70% santos is still 20 pounds heavier and
twice the puncher cotto is. Diff styles yes, but less risk at this stage of gthe boricua's career. I'm sticking with a foreman UD.

Well to be honest,Ever since the fight was signed,Everyone was already predicting Foreman will defeat Cotto easily,I havent heard not 1 person yet to say Cotto will beat him
