No fighter in the history of boxing would let a guy pound away HOPING to score points on defense. That's a pretty silly assumption on your part. Plus it takes away from what Cotto was doing.

even if he thinks that now, he'll change his mind once the fight comes. being highly offensive is not clottey's style. if he comes out doing anything but what he's always done, he might actually get knocked out.

He never has done so in the past, and he always had a low workrate and falls into a shell in the mid-late rounds.

An animal does not change its stripes and its bad habits, Clottey may think he's going to come out smoking, but he never did so in the past and once he gets tagged he'll go back to being his old self.

Its not only against Cotto, but also against Margarito and Baldomir.
A fighter like him does not change overnight, he'll go back to his habits and he's never been a high intensity/volume puncher, come on. He was never a hard puncher, look at his fight with Diego Corrales, at ****ing 149lbs on the scales.. probably 170-175 fight night against Corrales 150.

In short, Clottey is a fighter who depends on his turtle shell and left hook, that's all there is to him. He'll never be a high volume puncher for many rounds, he'll fade and start going into his shell, simple as.

I think Clotty needs to remain defensive for this fight and counter pac. Pac is able to KD guys because he lands punches his opponents don't see. If Clotty can block pac's punches and counter in spots, he can land the more damaging blow while not taking to many in return. I don't feel Clotty has the hand speed to match pac offensively.

Cotto beat Clottey with one eye and coming off the worst beating of his career, and then the worst performence of his career, and still beat clottey, i dont see how pac WONT be clottey.

The exciting part for ME is i dont think Pac can even hurt Josh, and i will be interested in seeing how pac adjusts when hes got Clottey walking through everything he throws.... and i want to see if he can crack the sturdy clotteys chin. As for Clottey winning though, i think he will make it rough, and sometimes ugly... but hes simply not good enough, and not smart enough, to win.

If ones body and strength mattered, Urango would be one of the most dangerous fighters at 140....

dont get me wrong, clottey is levels above urango, but for all his mass i dont see him being very effective in this fight with pacs movement and angles. but we will see.

what a badass pac is.... just got to say it. Clottey is a big strong tough african, and pac was fighting 130lbs not so long ago, and now hes fighting this monster.

If pac is able to crack Clotteys armor :yikes

I don't think he will be any different. I think he will look less active than normal only because he will be forced to pick up his feet a lot by Pac. And he will be handcuffed by pacs offense due to his use of the peek a boo style defense.

Once he gets hit by Pac he will know why Void is so afraid.

I told a guy a work tonight: "Clottey looks better losing fights than anyone I've ever seen. He'll look good at times, but he won't do enough to win. At the end of the day, he'll fight a way to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory!"
