i reckon 95% of people will think yes but personally i think no.

Jones would of always struggled with someone like Joe. Fast, southpaw, loads of work rate.

guarenteed it would have been a far more competative fight, but i think Joe was always a style nightmare for Roy.

My opinion is that it's more difficult than people think. On the contrary to the opinion of the masses i think that Jones' best shot is to win by ko. Calzaghe dictates the pace of fights so well, hundred miles an hour and has that multi directional mobility from his feet. He's a fast working ring general. Only one man ever dictated the pace against Calzaghe, and slowed it down, that was a master boxer named Bernard Hopkins. As great a fighter and as much a force of nature Jones is, he doesn't fight like Hopkins one bit. Jones is so fast and has one shot power, i don't think he could outbox an enigma that is Calzaghe, but i reckon he could blast him out of the blue and follow it up.

It's really difficult for me to say.

You are going to get a lot of people say that Roy beats him easily, KO round 1 ****. And you would get a decent minority that say Joe would always beat him.

The truth is somewhere in the middle for me. Roy would win, just about everytime. But it would be the toughest fight of his career and he would certainly see some rounds go against him as he coasted along.

I see Roy taking it about 8-4 with a very decent chance he gets a flash knockdown on Joe at some point.
Roy pretty much didnt lose a round in his prime but Joe didnt lose many either.

Calzaghes style is just completly different to anything else. You can see why people didnt think he was good and called him a slapper.

in his prime Calzaghe could bang as well. his chin has always been rock solid.

Calzaghe would win rounds on work rate alone. the way to beat Calzaghe is using dirty tactics. Hopkins and Ried came closest by doing that.

Yeah, i actually thought Hopkins was quite masterful early on against Calzaghe. How he slowed the pace boxing what some call a snoozefest.

I see it going right to the wire

i dont think roy would have been able to ko calzaghe, joe was a top class boxer in his prime as well

he had sensational foot movement and very good hand speed, plus had power before the injuries. If i were to bet it would be something like a 7-5 win for jones

i just hates idiots who say jones smokes calzaghe easy and **** like that, why do they say it? because they firstly dont knw how good calzaghe was in his prime and are just biased for jones
