The answer is probably simple - Valuev has a guaranteed deal with Haye because he gifted him his belt, and that is even a winnable fight. The difference to what he gets from Haye is probably not high enough, so he doesn't want to give up that chance, and also the "Klitschkos are ducking me!" angle.

The latter is what he will use to get a deal with either Klitschko after his rematch loss to Haye, for not much less. 2 mio for Haye + 2 mio from Wlad > 3 mio from Vitali. Plus, King knows that he can anger Vitali with that, so he can have a cheap revenge for Vitali not signing with him.

it was a 3mill $ offer, they MADE a deal with Valuev and Sauerland, but Don King wanted 4 mill.... no ducking here, just bad business sense in my opinion.

I heard Valuev wanted 4 million, which is ridiculous since he doesn't have a belt. 2 Million sounds fair enough.

Pathetic. Valuev needs to man up, or retire

I think it was up to Don King to decide. King has to line up some fighters for the senseless WBA belt. So he does not want to sacrifice one of them.

How come? Haye was running around him for 12 rounds. Valuev has been riuned because he had to chase Haye in the ring for 12 rounds?

No way Valuev is worth $3M, let alone $4M + tv rights! :patsch
He isn't shot like some say here, and if he is certainly not from the Haye 'so you think you can dance' match, but what King wants is rediculous.

I saw that brief moment of glory that brings so much excitement over Hayw fans. One good punch for 12 rounds? It does not suffice.

Ruined is exageration. IMO, Valuev lost to an aging Holyfield.

Haye fought a guy who was ruined by Holyfield, Ruiz, Chagaev and Donald before, and was on his way to get smashed by an old McCline before his knee gave out.

Valuev doesn't want to get exposed. Man either of the Klits will tear through him like wet tissue. It was more a question of how long the fight would last and how brutal the KO would look. Vitali? Ouch. He knows not to get in there.
