great post 46and0, calzaghe was more interested in giving america another version of his classic boogie woogie than trying stop the HBO illusion
despite your lack of knowledge mind reader, i am growing to like you. theres a fair chance you will be sucking my **** before the night is through :rofl
I just felt that calling jones a glass jawed fraud was an injustice to the sport of boxing, and didn't tell the true story. Jones really was incredible. His speed and athletism made his opponents scared to load up on thier shots. Jones also had good power with both hands. It's all good headbanger, No problem and I'm glad you commented back. Most just leave after attack thier words. Peace
No, it wasn't. This content is protected This content is protected Bernard ducked a fight with Joe in the states in 2002 where he was offered everything he asked for. FACT.
just thought it was a good post because there was no agenda behind your opinion and you had an intelligent appreciation for both fighters strengths. the likes of mind reader, bewareofthedawg, hyperuupercunt, and snakepiss could learn a thing or 2 from that.
Hopkins was only making around 200k-300k fighting his mandatories, so if he turned it down it wasnt about money. That would of been a career high purse for Hopkins.
top 100 atg arguably...I mean i give him that credit...but to compare him to guys like srl, fmj, manny, and many top 50 is ridiculous
46 - 0 im going to leave it at that - why such hate I will never know. Admittedly not my favorite fighter, but a ****ing skilled one who found a way to win when his hands were gone. Shame he stuck with Warren for so many years!
He cant be that overrated winning SMW titles WBO, WBA, WBC, IBF and Ring titles in the SMW & LHW divisions and defending one and winning one in his next fight after. The Manfredo fight was made to get American interest on purpose, no one expected Manfredo to win but he was in the Ring top ten SMWs at the time, and Bika is highly rated as a SMW now. Hopkins agreed to fight Calzaghe in 2001 for 3 mil (not sure if thats £s or $s) then asked for 6mil, when that was refused he then fought a lesser fighter for much less than 3mil, so who was ducking there? When Calzaghe did fight Hopkins it was when he was the premier LHW coming off wins over Winky and Tarver who was he meant to go up to LHW and fight? The no.2 Calzaghe was the person asking Warren to get him the Kessler fight so thats hardly the taxi driver, but then anyone with 21 title defences is going to have some poor names on there record but lets look closely Eubank, Reid, Woodhall, Jones (faded yes but still in the top ten Ring LHW ratings), Hopkins, Kessler, Lacy, Brewer, Mitchell, Veit (who has a win and loss over current WBO boss Brahmer), Bika, Sheika, etc. Hardly a poor record. When you can get wins over all these fighters and not really be classed as challenging themselves it speaks highly of them, but I realise you made this thread to discredit Calzaghes achievements. For some reason Calzaghes wins seem to wind people up
