What is the most highly skilled boxing match you've ever seen?

Yes:good I remember this they were both prospects at the time but Paul easily out boxed Canizales although he got dropped. I met Paul when i was 13 right before he went to the olympics and he encouraged me to go to his gym Hollenback(East LA) i knew Paul and much was expected from him in the pros, he looked very good in this fight, but had hand problems and injuries early on, and his skills ended up slipping. He was schooling top notch Pros when he was still an amatuer prior to the olympics, could have and shouldve been a great fighter. Super tall 5-9 for a flyweight, he ran for councilman not to long ago out here in the LA area.

Gonzalez looked superb in it, really amazing. as rattling off some amazingcombinations and magical movements. Shame he did not make more out of his career.

In the rematch he just did not have the pop to keep Canizalez off.

Absoloute superb clash of styles with both guys showing amazing skill. Also it is super exciting and the first round is phenomenal.

McGrain, I'll give Archer vs Moyer a watch today.

 

The Espadas vs Alfonso Lopez fights are epic as well.

 

Nice post Al, yeah technically it's a nice display from both men. Your old man is boxing centre ring, jabbing to open up other avenues to go down such as to the body, and he digs in at every opportunity. That's just pure technical boxing. Harada on the other hand is a little dynamo and just lets the hands fly and lands with punches in bunches, but he has good movement whilst punching himself so it's both men producing a high level technical affair. I really enjoyed it from that viewpoint. Like i said, a totally different animal to the Rose-Rudkin fight, that's just a straight up classic.

 

You know what. I've got the dinner on, had a few bevvies and I'm just sitting here watching it again with our kid. Haven't watched it myself for a while.
**** me Harada, what a fighter, what a dynamo. I've got to say though when your fighting a swarmer it's got to be something like this. Harada would be all over you otherwise.

Don't know if this one's been mentioned yet, but I recently watched Conteh vs Yaqui Lopez. Conteh's right hand was most likely hurt and he controlled the fight beautifully with his left. Classic effort.
