They were all sublime. Been telling everyone about this series. My personal faves were Burley and Robinson, reading them was like watching one of them youtube tribute vids with the majestic music in the background.
Man, I said earlier what my favourite one was but after re-Reading a few favourites again I'm almost certain that my favourites are Archie Moore and Henry Armstrong. As someone who is massively interested in Greb, the Norfolk narrative was extremely engrossing. I could read a novel by Stonehands just detailing Grebs fights. Eloquently written without being pretentious: an all-round triumph and great achievement. Everyone, after me :happy
I liked all of them in their own way. Each one was different and focussed on different things that added to the appeal. All of them were of an equally high standard.
Hey, now that's a surprise. I was hoping that I'd finish strong. Your favorite was #10 for a while and then you made that comment about how anything I did after 9 or 8 that was "less than excellent" would be a "failure" (remember THAT you bum?!). So, your identifying Greb as your favorite is a personal triumph, so to speak.

Really, the Robinson one stood out for me even amongst such a great series. 'Fickle Fortune had changed her mind… this fighter would not be condemned to humiliation, not now, not ever.' and 'The gods themselves throw incense' are just unreal, that's all i can say.
How about this though: "I was planning an article on Burley but when I read yours I shelved the idea. Yours was to good." Then you go and write a better one anyway Remember THAT you bum?!
