Regretably, my opinion is that Tyson should have had the KO vs. Buster Douglas. The count was clearly long. Although if it would have gone that way we would be robbed of the greatest upset in boxing history (maybe besides Braddock vs. Baer), But then we would have gotten to see An undefeated and prime Tyson vs. an undefeated and prime Holyfield, in stead of what we got in '96 when they were both shells of their former selves.
That Mayweather beat Castillo in the first fight by a wider margin than the second one. That Pacquiao beat Marquez both times, but actually by more rounds in the first fight. That the slow and plodding Chavez took toughness and a big punch as far as it could possibly go. Wow. That Thomas Hearns beats just about any modern welter, Floyd, Oscar, Shane, etc.
Vitali would have KO'd Lewis if it wasn't for the cut caused by either his dreads or the inside of the glove.
- Olympic Gold worth more than a single ABC pro belt, amateur achievements play heavy part in resume - Hopkins will fight till 50th birthday - Antonio Margarito is innocent, personal involvement never was proven, therefore his suspension is/was unjust, he should sue Dan Rafael for defamation ("Margocheato") - Joe Calzaghe would've beaten a prime Roy Jones at least 4 times out of 10 - Mosley's light middleweight achievements from the 2nd DLH fight and Jones' light heavyweight achievements from the Richard Hall fight should be erased from record books, titles stripped and all proven steroid/EPO/etc users' other achievements should be suspended until public aplogy and sworn statement that they never used PEDs in other fights - current Victor Conte supported athletes including the WBA SMW champion and the WBO HW mandatory challenger should be randomly blood and urine tested as long as they work with Conte. Better: Olympic style drug testing should be mandatory for every boxer - the whole heavyweight division and it's place in boxing history is overrated, most greats are ranked higher than their resumes would suggest - Germany is the Mecca of boxing today
I wouldn't say it means 'most' wouldn't agree, I think it means polarizing.. In other words, 'a lot' of people wouldn't agree and it would make for some heated discussion. :deal
Dont have a heart attack, I just typed the exact sentence to him that that idiot typed to me in one of my threads earlier.
Nothing contraversial about that last line, Hearns would wipe every one of them out but that first part is borderline insane TBH.
that old-time boxers particularly early century boxers get vastly overrated in many all-time P4P rankings.
I agree, I really haven't seen enough of SRR and question the level of competition between eras, but SRL had it all and holds wins over Hearns, Duran, Hagler among many others :deal
