Calzaghe after a fight in 2001 on showtime said he wanted to fight hopkins and jones and added in that he would stop hopkins.

Headbanger is a Rico wannabe. He even uses Rico terminology. Sad man.

Floyd gets the same bad rap. I don't hate on either of them. I think they have had tough fights and have proven themselves to be great fighters. Is Joe a super extraordinary legend? NO. I feel that he needed to fight more top guys to move up the ATG ladder. But again, he was a great fighter.

:patsch nope. you would fight roy jones, for the challenge and the prestige. any self respecting fighter would try to fight the best. if you're going to fight the taxi driver, fair enough, but dont claim to be rated as one of the all time greats (or at least have your fans claim that). the worst thing about boxing nowadays is precisely your point - fights are made more from the business perspective rather than the best fighting the best, mano a mano.

i got love for joe, its undeniable that the man had talent and he could have done a lot more in his career.. its obvious that he would have gotten way more respect if he had crossed the pond earlier in his career to make his splash onto the scene. oh, and it didnt help that he ducked glen johnson either..

great point and unfortunately the same argument can, and has, been made about my boy roy jones. course his resume shits on anything calzaghe has ever done. calzaghe did what he had to do, not what he needed to do for his legacy. he did the BARE ****ING MINIMUM to maintain that 0 and prevent anyone from claiming he wasn't a great fighter. fight the guys/hobos they give you, win and then claim you're the best cause you beat everyone you ever fought. why seek out challenges when you can lay back, risk free, and talk ****?

come on really what fighters have left warren. and warren aint got something to say. Joe was just stupid for staying with him as long as he did. he should of signed with Shaw after the Lacy fight or even Top rank after his win over Mitchell. FW alwasy has something to say about fighters tha tleave him. look he's already trying to make it seem like Khan ducked out on Bradley

    Two main problems with Calzaghe:

    1. Staying with Warren for so long
    2. Training with his dad

Everyone knows about the first one but I think his dad lucked out in having a son with natural talent. Calzaghe should have moved to a more established trainer - not that he would ever have done that. But I think he would have been a better fighter with someone like Roach

As a result, you've got a great boxer who left the game having not fully realised his potential and only fought in a number of headline bouts.

c'mon, if calzaghe had beaten johnson, he would have been ranked alongside tocker pudwill on calzaghe's resume. the man has lost 13 times, the only reason any yank mentions him is because his feather fists shattered roys jaw.
