Yeah I agree with that, in fact I'd go a step further and say that Leonard was worse.

Obviously not outwardly as much of a dick as Floyd can be at times, but there's something really calculating about him..... Hearns was struggling at 147 around the time of the first fight, he waited until Hagler was on the slide to make that fight, got a gift draw in the 2nd Hearns fight etc etc - I'm not trying to open his career up here but it annoys me the amount of credit he gets, despite obviouslybeing a great fighter.

Maybe it's just the silver spoons that I don't like - there's certainly a common theme with my disliking :yep

Pay no heed to Leonard fans, 95% of them are wankers, michael jackson fans, students, bandwagon boys, came across plenty of the pricks over the years & half of them only ever heard of Leonard due too the Hagler/LaLonde fight & the rest today just hook onto the name hoping to give themselves some cred with their peer's & especially here on ESB.

Leonard was the New Ali/goldenboy, he was a very smart well schooled & media savvy & new how to work the publicity market to the max, he got away with murder, while mayweather is really just a scum punk compared to Leonard when it comes to public perception & how to work the media to your advantage.

This is what Leonard excelled at in being able to connect with all levels of the public concousness & exploit it, back in the 70's/80's the was still this liberal guilt thing about racial background in the states & Leonard new that big time, there's been none smarter with the sound bite or the well placed wink for the camera's, he invented it:smoke

 

I thought Leonard was a great fighter and I would certainly say I was a fan of his. Does this make me a wanker or would I be one of the 5% of non-wankers and how would you tell me apart ?

I preferred Duran but would definitely say I am a fan of Leonards
