Never seen that fight before. Suprised how hittable Jones was, he was getting caught a lot with the southpaw jab. Reminded me of the first Tarver fight, though Harmon doesn't have Tarvers's power and seems to smother some of his own work on the inside.

Jones didn't look any different to me. Flashy and great to watch when he has a easy opponent. However mentally when challenged by someone great?

I couldn't imagine how good Jones would have been with mental fortitude of Calzaghe. Couldn't imagine Jones getting knocked down by BHop, coming back, changing technique and winning. That whats it all about, not the flash stuff against the garbage collectors. That only impresses clowns (see Predicto above).

Usual Roy Jones fight at 175 with him coasting against a guy he dould've easily stopped early in the fight.

He was already on the slide before he went up to hw, fighters who rely on athletic ability over technical ability tend to have short primes

He was carrying him. They called him reluctant Roy for this reason. He carried guys wayyyy too much in his LHW reign after 00 (even some fights before this). From 01-02, all the guys he fought except for that horrible guy he knocked out with his hands behind his back, Hall (whom they both tested positive for roids), and Clinton Woods were the only guys he TKO'd. He could've KO'd Harmon, even though Harmon was a quality opponent.

Tarver isn't very good, but it was only a matter of time before someone landed flush on Jones chin. Lou de Valle dropped Jones and Tarver was better and bigger than him, so it was really only a matter of time. Jones has always struggled with southy like Harmon, Harding and Tarver
