A close fight and I had Froch the victor by a couple of rounds but neither fighter looked great. One thing I will say is that Froch didn't win that fight, Andre Dirrell lost it. A hometown fighter will always get a little leg up regardless of which country youre fighting in and that's to be expected. Thats just the way it is. For Dirrell and his team to think otherwise is extremely naive and they should be considering that in the fight plan. Regardless of what you thought about Froch's hitting behind the head etc Dirrell should not have been running, holding and complaining throughout. That is not the way to win a world title from somebody. Also the champion is normally given a slight edge because a title is a lot to lose, and to lose it on a dodgy decision would be very unjust. Rightly or wrongly you have to take the title away from the champion. Again, the Dirrell camp were naive if they thought this didnt apply to them. Personally I think had Dirrell fought as well as he did in the last few rounds for the entire fight he would have won. But he left it too late. Like I said, Froch didn't win, Dirrell lost.
"robbed" is becoming the most over used word in boxing now, it's like some boxing fans have lost the meaning of the actual word. yes there are a few fights where one fighter gets blatantly robbed, but close fights are not robberies, and it seems more boxing fans are accusing robberies for fights that are very close. it really baffles me how stupid some people really are.
i quite liked the fact that froch after fighting in a title fight, caught the bus home lol. that's pretty down to earth.
Straight into his new hot-tub, which is so big he had to get it air-lifted into into his garden (I only know this 'cos he mentioned it on the t.v!). I've met Froch! He comes across as an arrogant wanker, with zero personality!! But for some strange reason I am still a fan (Froch's in-the-ring tenacity is truly admirable) and I hope he beats Kessler!!!
Having watched the fight, I scored it for Dirrell, by two rounds, but a lot of those rounds were very close. And, as you rightly say, if Dirrell had put as much into the first half of the fight as he did in the the last few rounds he would have won it, but he didn't!! LOL at Dirrell's comments regarding Roy and Floyd not having to fight in Europe!! The guy was making his first challenge for a world title, and not some multi-weight ATG!!!! To be honest, i'm convinced that Dirrell is one hell of a boxer!! Now, all he has to do is convince himself (And I don't mean by talking ****, like he did before his fight with Froch)!!
i think dirrell could of won the fight if he wasn't too defensive, it's the same thing that i believe cost hopkins against calzaghe. too much clinching and running just puts off the judges.
Yes i do agree with Dirrell. Big Robbery. Only one hurt in that fight was Carl. Froch let the judges triple team his lady.
Dirrell is a crybaby. I hope AA knows that he will be screwed if it goes to the cards so goes for the KO early
