Some new ones: The notion of a 'peak' is largely nonsense, typically an excuse to devalue the best wins of fighters people don't like. Boxing's round scoring system is fundamentally flawed. Case in point, Froch-Dirrell. Dirrell clearly showed himself the superior boxer, yet on round by round I find it difficult to score him the winner.
:good No dis whatsoever to the guy, but when I read that I thought "Wow! This guy must have some conservative views". God knows what he must think of some of the crazies on here!!.
That RJJ could have beat any fighter in the history of boxing (Regardless of weight) qualifies as a controversial opinion, surely? I guess the way to find out is to start a thread titled as such!.
Mitchel was past his best but Mayweather's first fight at 147. Judah while comming off an upset loss to Baldomir was considred a top pound for pound boxer at the time and considred a realicist thrett to be able to beat Maywether. Everyone likes to point to Baldomir's won-loss record and it is not the best but consider that he had not lost a boxing match since 1998 and beat Judah. Hatton was the top boxer at 140 going in people point out that he strugled aginnst Collazo but keep in mind that Callazo is a tough night for pretty much any welterweight. Marquez was a top 3 Pound for Pounder. You can talk about the weight diffrence both about Marquez being more of a natrual lightweight or Maywether being 146. However how much of a difrence would it have made. My guess is that it would have made a 2 round diffrence at most. I considerd Mosley's resume at 147 before making my post however I find Mayweather's to be better. Yes Mosley's win over De La Hoya is more impresive than Mayweather's wins. He lso has a very good win over Collazo. Had he beaten Forest and Cotto I would not have made my post. I have said this a million times and I am afride I will have to say it a million more but Cotto is overated so is Margrito. Even if he was never cought with the loaded gloves. I stand by my point Mayweater has the best resume at 147.
:good Another nice example of a controversial opinion Mookhound (Regarding a fighter's peak). I liked the Froch-Dirrell example (I scored it for Dirrell, by two rounds)!! But sometimes the superior boxer doesn't win the fight. A classic example of this would be Herol Graham-vs-Julian Jackson!!
I guess that the original thread has been forgot!! If anyone has any doubts as to whether their opinions are controversial, then maybe they should start a thread based on their "Controversial opinions".
This would certainly cause a stir as a "Thread"!! And that must be what a "Controversial opinion" is all about!
How about this since I'm on a Mayweather tangant Floyd Mayweather Jr. is underrated. Rogger Mayweather is an outstanding trainer both in the gym and in the corner. If he is in Floyd's corner (pending leagle issues may keep him out.) He will out think Nazim Richardson. in Mosley's corner
