was a good game.dont know if it means much in how the teams will perform this year.my favourite part was when they were going on about how Souths havent won the comp since 1971 and how no team deserves success more since its been so long etc.and Daley said'i think Sharkies fans would disagree with that'and all the commentators

I think you're being a bit harsh on him actually. He's only been training for a bit over a month or so in the off season so he's bound to be a bit rusty.

I reckon he has very good vision, and we'll see the best of him once he builds up some match fitness. He does have his faults though, and one of them is that he tends to go missing when the team needs him most. If we're winning games easily, he'll keep shining and we'll end up flogging teams, but when theres a real dog fight going on, he tends to lack the big game plays, which is why he shouldnt be considered for origin just yet.

Sandow seemed more confident last night, and it seems that Lang has given him a lot more attacking freedom. He'll also get better with game time.

 

How exactly did they suck?

Our defence needs tuning, but you can hardly blame the forwards for that. Champion still has little idea when it comes to defence as he and Talanoa were both caught out coming in field creating space on the wing (ala Hegarty like).

Best was solid in defence, and he'll also probably get more involved in attack later on.

Overall, it was scrappy defensively and both teams need to do some tuning, but the signs are there for both teams.
