There's no difference between what he'd make fighting Malignaggi or Maidana. He's under contract. And fighters don't get any respect for using "business" as an excuse for taking as few risks as possible.

HBO refused Khan/Maidana? Now you're just making things up. I googled it and there's nothing to substantiate your claim. As far as I know the Khan and Maidana camps never even had talks so I'm not sure how HBO would have even had the opportunity to refuse. Roach was talking about dropping the belt to avoid Maidana the instant he became a mandatory. So I'm going to have to call bull**** on your claim.

Why were they so keen on avoiding him then? Come on, be real. Khan's only went up against one puncher in his entire career and he got wrecked in a minute. You can go on claiming that he'll smoke this guy and that guy when he hasn't taken a risk since Prescott but that doesn't make it even remotely true. 12 rounds is a long time to avoid getting smacked on the chin.

Boxing's on the downslide over here. I hate to tell you this but Malignaggi isn't much more popular right now than Khan was at 21 years old in Britain. And he's got a built in fan base being an Italian from New York and having spent years consistently challenging the best out there. Khan doesn't have a built in fan base in America and from what I can see so far he's going to be running away from the best. It's the perfect recipe for "no one gives a ****". Going to America and cherry picking is not the way to get fame in this sport

Exactly. He doesn't have a chin. Which is why he's going to try and go after pillow punchers and old men that don't have their legs any more. It's a simple formula for his team to try and make Khan look like he's relevant at the championship level when he's not at all.

Khan, in the final analysis, is a junior welter version of Enzo Mac. And he's going to end up the same way. Knocked out multiple times and sent into an early retirement. I know you don't want to hear the cruel facts because you have some sort of red hot man crush on Khan, but there they are.

 

Stay tuned, Khan can't avoid punchers/ decent power all his life, see this Paulie as a good look, welcoming to the U.S.A fight.

But let me put a fact to you. Punchers KO people, thats what they do if its Khan or anyone else. Most normal fighters when fighting punchers will try not getting hit clean, and if they do then their most likely going to get KO good or bad chin.

But the fact is you can deal with punchers with boxing skills and defence but they will always have a punchers chance.

The question is how would Khan fare with fighters with decent/normal at his new weight of 140 KO power? what if Khan just eats them punches up at 140 like the Kotelnik fight? what will you guys say then?

In the past year Roach's team have put a lot work in Khan not only in boxing terms but also his whole body weight balance. Note Khan when he got KO by Prescott how his upper body was built up and how skinny his legs were, and what was his body fat?

They have taken at least 25%-30% weight/ muscle off his upper body and moved it down his lower body/legs plus now moved him up a weight to a more natural weight for his frame at 140 where his hydration levels should be spot on. Khan has stated in interviews that he was KILLING HIMSELF MAKING 135.

Most of you haters should hope Khan was not weight drained because if he was (my view) he should take normal/decent shots time to time without to much trouble, and then the whole boxing world around his weight are in big trouble.

Khan was a millionaire before the ink dried on his first contract with Warren. Khan has moved to Golden Boy as it is Roachs wish, and i think he will live to regret it in the long run. For all his faults Warren is a great matchmaker.

 

I would go with that,though they way he dumped Warren was disgraceful and a lot is down to his family.

Definitely avoiding Maidana though.
