Considering that of all the champions, only he would survive a nuclear war, I'd say that he was pretty good (at surviving). However, his appeal factor is clearly in the negative numbers.

Hands down it has to be Bruce Seldon, most people forget he actually held the WBA title for a bit. He even successfully defended it once. Amazing how weak the WBA is.

I don't think Ail stops Griffin in one round. I don't think Ali stops Hill with one punch. Roy rarely showed his full potential in his prime, if he would meet a dangerous HW like Patterson, we would see the best of Roy.

    Seldon is a good call.

Probably the worst fighter to actually defend it.

Why, because he knocked out all LHW's he met? Ruiz knocked down Holyfield. The version of Holyfield that Moorer beat was young, yes, but had some health problems and Moorer didn't come close to knocking down.

theres alot worse then john ruiz. ruiz might be the most hated haha but he is for sure not the worst. seldon, rahman(he did beat him easily), valuev, briggs, iggy, carnera, leon, bruno, lyachovich, haye?, tucker, bonecrusher, etc..

Vintage Roy? You mean like mythology vintage Tyson who would destroy every hw in his prime which probably lasted 3 seconds? Sorry but Roy Jones Jr. is one of the most overrated fighters by his own fans. :-( Delusional.

Frans Botha is a good fighter? The White buffalo was a consumate overachiever. He was like the Rudy of boxing. Not a speck of talent, athletic ability or power...yet somehow he managed to secure big fights. If I were you I'd mention his win over Golota and stay away from buffalo meat.

tyson was great till he suddenly forgot his defence. roy was great till he lost a step due to age. fighters do get old. and roys strenghts left him because of his style and age.

Ruiz actually did incredibly well for himself, all things considered.

He isn't overrated, actually he is very underrated now with his fall from grace after his physical prime had ended. Look at these boards, there are only like 4 RJJ fan. You are living in the past, my man. Most guys talk lowly of Jones, some have even said on this forum that he is not a ATG, surprisingly. I have only seen like 4 RJJ fans, and those I have seen only 20 overrate him. 2! Why are you so defensive over Patterson?
