Ruiz held a geuine world title (not any of this 'IBO' or 'WBO' bull****) not once, but TWICE. Ruiz has been knocking about with the elite for many more years than Wlad has and also doesn't have any question marks regarding brothers who might pass on dodgy cereals, if you get my drift: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/ot...04/Boxing-Klitschko-admits-steroid-abuse.html Ruiz has also only ever been KO'd once and that was by via a lucky punch by Tua whereas Wlad's chin is made of anti-HW china. Ruiz: beat a prime Rahman rather than wait for him to get old like Wlad did; beat a tough fighter and fan favourite in Golota (a man Wlad never did face in the ring); went the distance with Valuev TWICE (something neither of the Klits have done as they have ducked him); Let's also not forget that Ruiz didn't fight someone else rather than wait for Haye's injury to heal (Ruiz said he'd wait for Haye's hand to heal in order to allow the fight to happen). In short, Ruiz will take on anyone, anywhere and at whatever time. My conclusion is this: Ruiz's CV is much better than anything Wlad has achieved and if Haye beats Ruiz, he has to be in the top ten HW's of all time. Anyone else think that Haye should be given huge credit for facing Ruiz in the first place? Thoughts, ESB? This content is protected
As tragic as it is, other than Holyfield, I can't think of an active heavyweight who's fought better comp than Ruiz.
But this makes Valuev above both Wlad and Ruiz since his record is much better and he is 1-0 with Holyfield, while Ruiz is 2-1 only.
John Ruiz fought him straight after Lennox did - Valuev fought him after a whole load of other people beat him.
But that make Holyfiled freshly broken fighter, Holy stated his loses that time were because he had some arm injury.
No, you're boardline ******ed at best. Even if you have any intention of dispassionately comparing the careers of these two fighters, which you obviously do not, the question is what has Ruiz done lately. In the past 5 years Ruiz has fought 7 times, losing three of those bouts...twice to Valuev, once to Ruslan. His most impressive victory in half a decade is close decision against Jameel Mccline. Grow up and stop cluttering the boards with such nonsense. Ruize is obviously at least 5 years past his prime and Haye should be flogged if he doesn't knock this bum out.
It's tragically stupid is what it is. Wlad fought Brewster twice, he fought Byrd twice, he fought no fewer than 7 number one contenders. His resume is vastly superior to Ruiz's. For instance, let's look at the past 5 years. In that time Wlad had won 8 fights in a row, 4 of them against 1 one contenders, 2 of them against champions. By comparison, Ruiz fought 7 times, losing 3 (Valuev, Valuev, Ruslan) and his best win was a close decision victory over mccline. Seriously?atsch
Young Holyfield, yes. Old Holyfield, my goddamn grandmother could beat him. I mean, didn't he get friggin starched by gat James Toney...like years ago????
That's pretty much the truth. As to the original question. Are Ruiz credentials better.. yes. Is Ruiz a better fighter...no.
Ruiz was never seen as the top man. Wlad has been the clear top heavyweight since late 2005 until now and maybe more years to come. That's at least 5 years compared to Ruiz's 0 years of being the best heavyweight.
