Well Freddy I don't know if you ever noticed but me personally I have never commented much on the Margarito hand wrap situation because truthfully I have always felt a little confused by it because maybe deep down I feel it has been blown out of proportion also. But logic does tell me that Margarito was trying to illegally wrap his hands before his fight with Mosley but the extent of how bad it was it what has me confused.

Name me one fight in which Chavez or Barrera punched someone in the balls after he was seriously in trouble and could have been stopped. If you do, I'll STFU. If not, it's still Puerto Rico=4 to Mexico's=1. :deal

Chavez had two points taken away from for low blows against Frankie Randall in their first fight. And I like Barrera as a fighter so there's no need to go into all the fouls he committed against his opponents but obviously you will choose to ignore that.

Not sure what is your point? Surely they didn't try to sneak in a brick or anything, aren't they? As people told you, it is apparently perfectly legal way of wrapping your hands in some countries, but not in CA. You could also see by their reaction, in particular by Kessler's who understood it, that they did not make any fuss about (not behaved like they were caught cheating). The confusion by trainer was simply because he didn't know what the **** they are talking about!

Really, you are making it sound like the guy was trying to bring a brick in the ring. :-(

maybe your missing the whole point with all this brick talk.....but my thing is this, if that in fact does make you punch way harder (as stated by the same team that many praise now), then why isn't something being done about it....why is it legal in some states/countries when other states clearly feel there is something "wrong" about it......it seems that most of you only care about what's "legal" and whats not.....being legal doesn't mean it aint dangerous...IMO, if they wanna look out for the fighters, they need a universal rule for hand wraps.....all this legal in some states is bull**** if in fact they really do make you hit that much harder

nope, you started this thread to discredit a fighter you don't like for some reason. Talking about safety won't deceive anybody.

Regarding safety, there is a long article on ringTV on the safety and it involves wrapping. The way it is currently done is apparently equal to making fists a deadly weapon.

If you want more about it, go fight a boxing club or a book and educate yourself. Leave alone accusation and semi educated guesses. They make you dubmer than you probably are. :hi:

I think they call that technique "casting"

Not sure how much harder it makes the actual impact.. Although I bet a person gets bruised and cut a lot easier when using techniques like casting or plaster.

And while I'm at it does anyone know if the practice of "skinning the glove" is illegal??? Barrera did it in his rematch with Juarez. Form what I heard you basically take the hand wraps and wrap it around the glove pulling and stretching the glove tighter aorund your knuckles. Sounds like a dangerous little trick to me that Barrera got away with scott free.
