tough choice between ndou and corrales. The fight with chico was probably more significant but if i had to pick which i wanted to rewatch first it would be the ndou fight. His defense and in-fighting was masterful that night against a fighter who if i remember correctly had most of his wins by way of KO/TKO with only a loss or two along the way.
atsch Even I feel embarrassed for you for saying such a stupid thing. He was a top 10 p4p boxer at the time. Not to mention much bigger than Floyd at the time too.
That's your argument? He was No.5 P4P and never entered the list again. That's the thing with Chico he was very big but his boxing skills were B level.
His best performance has to be the Corrales fight, unfortunately Diego wasn't 100% but I cant hold it against Floyd. The way he destroyed Gatti was a look at how dominant he could be. He unloaded his entire arsenal on a hapless Gatti and should Mosley try to outbox Mayweather it will be a similar outcome but a late stoppage
Best performance - Diego Corrales. Best Beat down - Arturo Gatti Funnest fight to watch - Ndou Methodical beating - Ricky Hatton Outclassing - Judah Too easy - De La Hoya Redemption - Castillo II
Floyd destroyed Chico.... Shouldn't matter what happened after that, cause it's very arguable Floyd ruined him that night. His size, power, and ability landed him that top 130lb spot. Do u remember what Corrales did to Freitas... He was pounding out anyone who stepped up. U don't have to be a technician to be elite..Think about that time frame not the current time, and what he did leading up to that..
I love his performance against N'dou, especially the 5th round. But his performance against Corrales was also breathtaking.
1.Corrales 2.Hatton 3.There's not much else that has impressed me to be honest. He looked pretty poor against good opponents (Castillo and Oscar), but looked great against woefully overmatched opponents (Gatti and N'Dou). All in all, not much to crow about IMO, especially not in a historical sense.
I do miss the Floyd Mayweather we saw in the Ndou fight. When Floyd opens up offensively and gets aggressive it is the most artistic thing I've ever seen in boxing.
