I wouldn't say he was robbed, but as the top dawg in the division at the time, he sure was treated badly by the ref. Spinks was knocked down at least once and it was ignored. Why Don King would even put him in with Spinks I don't know, it cost Mayorga a PPV with Shane in 2004. Mayorga should've fought Margarito instead(WBO champion at the time) Mayorga was never the same mentally after this fight. He quit training hard once he moved up in weight
Dude, I jsut spent 5 years under water. You think I could keep track of boxing like I wanted to? I couldn't watch **** for boxing for 5 years because of my service, and you ***gots are going to talk **** about it? **** you.
Excuses, excuses, excuses. Tsk, tsk. If you have a 5 year gap in your boxing knowledge, then perhaps you should tone down your blatant assclownery on this forum. Maybe it would behoove you to stop talking sh!t about other folks' opinions when there is a half a decade hole in your boxing fan resume. There is nothing more pathetic than being persistently loud AND wrong. And you are consistently both. "You only get half a bar,...."
An idiot is someone who has a half a decade sized hole in the boxing knowledge, yet insists on trash talkin others. Sad indeed.
not really, the stoppage was arguably premature, Spinks was just dumb enough to not protect himself after a break.
There wasn't one LEGITIMATE knockdown. Mayorga did his usual pushing and laying over the top of you, and pushing down on you. Ricardo also gives you a shoulder block when he jumps in. This fight was not difficult to score either, and Ricardo is always going to have points potentially taken from him because he HITS BEHIND THE HEAD......period! If u can't score this fight......you better find a new sport.
Can you imagine the critism that Klitschko or David Haye would get if they were falling to the canvass everytime the opponent got close and was ready to throw punches? Spiks was scared to get hit and fought like a pansy. This is a guy with no punching power at all to start with and he was throwing light punches and running too much even by Spinks lame ass standards. He didn't deserve to win the fight, it was ****ing embarressing, period! All hail the new champion, the guy who was canvass diving, running, throwing weak punches because he afraid to get hit. He might as well as just ran to the nearest exit and left if he had no intention of fighting. Pathetic, it is sickening. :-(
I will give you that. It wasnt too good. Haye says he broke his hand. So, i don't know. But Spinks vs Mayorga takes the cake of having no intention of doing any damage to your opponent and running too ****ing much.
