He's said in an interview with Brian Kenny that his public persona was going to change. I don't get people calling him brilliant at selling fights, the heel act is as old as time itself and he sucks at it. You can see him acting all the time, at times he'll even say something that is clearly a fight selling line and a money may line and then after he says it there's that awkward moment when he's smiling nervously and selfconsciously, because he's not really that person nor is he a good actor. His trash talking is ****, also. Trash talk doesn't have to be funny or clever, but his is just pitiful.

Calling PBF Money May, cracks me up. It somehow soo captures the ridiculous persona.

Roger and Floyd sr, now those are genuine characters and funny as hell!

I actually suspect he has a fun, funny, entertaining personality but it could never come out because it couldn't develop naturally in front of the camera because every time someone showed a camera in his face he snapped to attention and thought "oh, now I gotta do the money may act". I think if he just allowed himself to act naturally, maybe some of it would show.

 

The genuine hate he receives from so many people would suggest otherwise.

He doesn't have to be believable playing a heel for people to hate him.

But I believe he DOES sell it to most people, but, as I said, I can see him acting, and even when I can't it's just a stupid persona, it's not engaging.

This actually isn't the best video to show it, but you're familiar with Mike's persona, eating children and all that shtick. He comes off as a real maniac, a ****ing psycho. That's interesting, not some guy who just gets up while DLH's speaking and starts dancing.

So many fighters do it well. Ali, Mayorga etc etc
