Good thing your opinion of 'clottey beating cotto' doesnt mean anything. clottey had a one eye fighter coming off the worst beating of his career, then the worst performence of his career and STILL couldnt pull out a win. and as far as who has Cotto beat Mosley (would smoke hatton and better then any hatton win -1) Torres Quintana Clottey (yup) Judah hell, cotto completely tooled bailey who years and years later and far more past it, put urango whos in his prime on his damn ass and had him in trouble, Urango is lucky Baileys legs were almost completely gone by this fight, this is the same bailey who years and years earlier could hardly win a minute against cotto, but urango is one of hattons best wins right? just wait and watch urango get tooled again this weekend. Meanwhile cottos victims like quintana go on to go 1-1 with paul williams, or go on to destroy margarito and have one of the biggest fights out there today. and cotto, unlike hatton, actually offered some resistence to pac instead of getting almost killed in two rounds. you want to talk Margarito? theres another fighter cotto fought that hatton wouldnt even make it to the championship rounds with. Hatton is a class fighter with some good wins (regardless of what the thread starter says about how he looked in the fights, he still beat urango and collazo while being less then impressive, and although i dont think highly of urango, collazo is a top shelf fighter) the zoo win was fantastic although against a zoo at the very end of his career (and unlike cotto's mosley, who went on to have one of the best wins of his career afterwards) and the malignaggi fight showed that hatton can still perform at a high level against top fighters. I rate hatton fairly highly, hes a good pressure fighter who owns 140lbs and has a decent body of work, i think hes underrated by most and would give most people hell at his weight. However, Cotto is better then hatton on resume, on losses, on wins, on head to head ability, and overall skills. Most world class trainers can see it, most world class fighters can see it, and most knowledgeble fans know it.
if floyd had beaten tyszu when hatton did, it would be the number 1 victory on floyds resume. :deal think i'm seeing where the bitterness is coming from now, its because floyd ducked tyszu
I would rate R.H at 140 only. WW isn't his weight. He showed very good boxing IQ with Juan Urango after the body shot made the Mancurian tip the canvas with his glove. Hatton thrashed Kotsya, the man at 140. Ricky smoked Paulie M.
This is exactly one of the reasons Clottey has to be a serious underdog going into his fight with Pacquiao. Clottey couldn't close against a wounded fighter and yet somehow is expected to shine against Pacquiao? Negative on that. Clottey will do what Clottey does in this one, which is overestimate his own defensive capabilities, throw a deathly low number of punches, and complain after the fight.
People say that hatton was crap against urango, but then doesnt that show how good hatton is? he fought like crap and was STILL good enough to beat urango? people for some reason like to act like hatton hasnt completely owned malignaggi in a way nobody has, and didnt outbox urango with a chest infection, let alone fighting in a weight class he has no buisness at and bareling edging out collazo. Collazo Malignaggi Urango those are three solid wins that for some tend to ignore it seems.... :huh
I doubt you were even watching boxing then, hence your underrating of koysta. ****Last Week's Ring: This content is protected For Period Ended May 25, 2005 POUND-FOR-POUND 1. You are wrong. You are on ESB man. 1 tv call out = full proof the other fighter is ducking if the fight doesn't happen.
Hatton's best 'win' was when he and Davie Parris teamed up to mug Tszyu. Since then he's looked pretty shaky, especially in his attempts to move up to 147. How can a guy who balloons up so much between fights be so **** just 7lbs north of 140?
so to summerise cottos best win was against a guy outside of the top 10 p4p hattons was against the number 3 pound for pound yet cottos win was more impressive lol? hatton was ring champ and the man at 140 while cotto almost got k0d by b level fighters at 140
This forum swings from one extreme to another. It's like: FMJ is the best ever! FMJ is an overrated bum. Gatti is #3 p4p! Gatti is a one-dimensional slugger. Hatton is crap! Hatton is one of the best ever! Calzaghe is the best ever! Calzaghe never fought anyone!
