This is an excellent chess move by Floyd both to shape the fight and to sell it. Floyd hopes Shane is going to get mad and try to take his head off, thus he will leave himself open to counters. This isn't new, Mayweather got in the head of Ricky, Oscar, Gatti, hell just about every guy he fought since becoming a champion.
