I would say that if you used the same knucklepads several times, they would get hard......

Even when I use my shamee to dry my car, I leave it out to dry and it gets stiff......and thats just water on the shamee.....if I were to dip it in sweat, which has all kinds of calcium, minerals, and what have you......I'd imagine it would be harder than just using it to wipe clear water.

even if there is no hard evidence to link him into using plaster against past opponents including Cotto, just getting caught attempting to use plaster on someone is enough to merit a lifetime ban.

Who ****ing cares. Having a hardened pad in your gloves might be cheating, but it isn't going to have any great effect. Think about it.

The guy can throw 1600 punches in 12 rounds. He wasn't winning because he hits hard, he was winning because he could take a punch and dish out 50 in return. He may have been cheating, but it wasn't having an effect on his opponents.

When Capetillo, Richardson, along with the inspector were arguing, Richardson insisted that Margarito unwrap his other hand.....according to to both Richardson and the inspector, Margarito was quick to extend his hand out and instruct Capetillo to unwrap him.......

.....Margarito has never gotten in the way of any investigation and everyone from Richardson to the CSAC say he was fully cooperative through the whole ordeal......thats not something that can be said of Manny Pacquiao, who without question has been uncooperative in regards to random drug tests.

There is nothing Margarito can do now to prove he was innocent and did'nt know the Capetillo inserted illegal knucklepads on his wraps......

Pac however had the opportunity to cooperate and do everything possible to prove he fights clean and refused to cooperate.

And if the gauze was hard, it would be impossible not to notice and "accidentally" use it for a professional bout. No trainer in their right mind would risk destroying their fighter's career by using this crap without explicit consent.

I'm a hundred percent serious. The "loading" would have to add some sort of weight or impact zone reduction. Putting a flat, hard pad into the wraps really wouldn't have an effect. If the pad was triangular (i.e. this: ^ instead of this: --), then it would cause the punch impact to be concentrated, and that would of course cause the punches to do more damage. But a flat pad...it isn't going to do anything really. Handwraps are pretty hard as it is, and so are knuckles. I think the supposedly devastating effect of these things is being blown out of proportion.

If the pad is put in before most of the wrapping is done, then the tape/gauze will form a cushioning layer over it, much like it does to the knuckles. If it's put in after most of the tape and gauze are already on, then there's a cushioning layer behind it, which also mitigates the effect. And let's not forget that either way, there's a glove over it, which also softens the blow. I REALLLLY don't think it would give much of a benefit (if any) to the guy with his wraps loaded.

:admin DAMN, OH WELL, if you say so, it must definitely STOP!!! Sorry from all of us who started this... I hope you, plzzzzzzz, accept our most sincere apologies for this 1, BigBone. After all, like you say, "INNOCENT 'TIL PROVEN GUILTY":yep, one of the biggest missconceptions/lies of our justice system.... I would encourage you to visit a penitentiary system here in the US and talk to the inmates & do ur own research on this.... A lot of them, if not most, had to try to prove their innocense but (obviously) failed.... BTW, if you are suspect 4 any reason (like Margocheato and pacquiao) you cannot just go to the judge & tell him something to the effect of: "prove me guilty, I've never done anything wrong , and this charges offend me".... jails would be empty.... but guess what , that's basically pacquiao's defense and to some extent Margarito's as well! You don't have to prove Margarito's cheating beyond any reasonable doubt like in some criminal cases.... in here u can use your lucid, reasonable judgement, and that one tells me he must have used it against Cotto and probably a lot others b4.

I dont agree that gauze if used over and over and over is going to become hard.

why do we have to keep feeding these pointless thread? The thread starter was just looking for attention. Margarito deserves to get his balls smashed with a steel rod for attempting to use those pads against Mosley. And if he did them previously than smashed in the face :good

Wow you all really amaze me. I think your hate in margarito is really rooted in racism and not in what it was alleged that he did. Many of you never liked margarito in the first place before such incident happened.

First of all the commistion did not exmamine the case accordingly. The reason this matter was presnted to a court of law was because there was no way that a court with no bias was going to find Margarito guilty of a alleged substance that he did not know was there. Second of all he would have won the case with the evidendence rule. You see you little minded idiots. First richardson got the wraps, then moseley looked at them then someone else from moselys and well you get the picture. Idiots.

What made margo speical was his chin and ability to break his opponents mentally and then beating them.

Bandages shall not exceed the following restrictions:
One winding of surgeon's adhesive tape, not over one and one-half inches wide, placed directly on the hand to protect that part of the hand near the wrist. Said tape may cross the back of the hand twice but shall not extend within one inch of the knuckles when hand is clenched to make a fist.
Contestants shall use soft surgical bandage not over two inches wide, held in place by not more than two yards of surgeon's adhesive tape for each hand. One 10-yard roll of bandage shall complete the wrappings for each hand.
Bandages shall be adjusted in the dressing room in the presence of a commission representative and both contestants. Either contestant may waive his privilege of witnessing the bandaging of his opponent's hands.
NOTE: Authority cited: Section 18611, Business and Professions Code. Reference: Sections 18640 and 18714, Business and Professions Code.

    That's the rule.

    Anything else is breaking it.

Oh ****, he is serious. Maybe if he is not 100% sure, he should test the method. Get someone to punch him dead in the face with and then without. Post us after the test please.

Wow, you saved the day with that post. His special abilities and chin sure did not help him with Mosley. Don't give a **** if he is Mexican or from Mars. He got caught and he should not fight again. If he would have got away with it and made Mosley a vegetable, then what?
