Examples of fighters who started out good and became extraordinary

    As stated by Floyd Mayweather Jr-

    "In the sport of boxing you start off good and become great. Or you start off good and remain good, or you start off good and fall off towards the end of your career. You don't start off ordinary and when you hit 26 you become extraordinary."

    can you list some examples of fighters who started off good/ordinary and became extraordinary?

    Ya, a lot of fighters dont go from ordinary to extraordinary, pac is a once in a generation type fighter, but there are plenty of fighters that start off mediocre, and become very very good fighters over time, ESPECIALLY fighters from other countries who werent groomed in boxing throughout their childhood and often turned pro at an early age as well.

    Mayweather is thinking as if other poor fighters from other countries have it set the way many american amature stars or olympians due, to where they reach their full potential early.... its just not the case with many of these fighters from poor countries.

    Watch Pac at BW and tell me he wasnt extraordinary. The guy had lightning speed, even heavier hands, great stamina and tough. The only difference between now and then is his punches arent as devastating and he is a lot more skilled. I didnt know steroids gave you skills. Mayweather is an idiot.

    i mean lets be real

    beat an undersized oscar & tito
    beat glen johnson who wasn't **** til he beat roy
    beat tarver who also wasn't **** till he beat roy
    lost to joe c & jermain taylor (even tho i thought he won the first fight)
    best win is probably pavlik
