I know that the title may be misleading (it was done in jest) but has anyone else noticed how De La Hoya always picks the wrong guy? (Click the text for source below.)

De La Hoya picks Hatton over Mayweather

    DLH picks Hatton over Pacquiao

    DLH picks JMM over Floyd

    DLH predicts Cotto over Pacquiao

and of course he picked himself against both Money Mayweather and Pacquiao.

So if you want an indication of a safe bet, put your money... on Money.

    DLh sells fights.
His job is to pump up the guy you don't think can win.

    Let's get real here.

Oscar always picks the underdog because competitive fights sell better

That makes sense. He can't truly be this wrong, this often. I thought I would point it out because it made me laugh. I hope that nobody takes this thread (or thread title) too seriously.

De La Hoya is a promoter, the man will say anything if it gets people to buy more PPV's. The man would claim that the cure to cancer is watching his PPVs if it helps them sell.

Never trust DLH. He wants to sell a fight so naturally backs the underdog and he is friends and is a partner with Mosley.

No, he's not. He's a promoter. All his words come from his love of money and power. You cannot trust anything a promoter says. In this, his motives are clear. You talk up the guy who probably won't win because if you talk up the favorite, the fight looks less and less interesting.

DLH is just doing his job. It would be more shocking if he picked all the right fighters.

Can't you guys see this is a setup for the Pretty Pretty Boy? There's NO WAY in HELL that the Pretty One would risk is 0 in the loss column. Mosely is happy he got his payday, all it took was some Hatians needed to be crushed. The Loud Mouth PBF isn't going to take any chances, he's going to play patty cake with Mosely all night. It'll be a boring decision for PBF. Hope you guys think you'll get your money's worth watching a grown man smell his own armpit during the fight, because I ain't paying for that ****.

money may is a golden boy killer odh has been diggin and diggin to find a fighter to beat him and he cant stand it. if you think he is gonna pitty pat mosely that falls on mosely. if he makes him fight he will just look at corrales or hatton both action fights. if he figures out he cant beat him early(see delahoya vs. money may) it will be a boring fight i dont see mosely taking the easy way out the 1st time he does that it will be the 1st time look for a classic
