frank warren said in an interwiew after the brancalion fight that the were looking at fighting the German Karo Murat, 20-0 (12 KO's), whos rated just ahead of him b ring and is the WBO intercontinental champ.

but johnson would be an excellent test for him towards the end of the year

Look at his last 5 wins.

Has he been doing that to people infinitely less talented than Cleverly?

Of course it'd be a tough fight, that's why it's be a good fight.

He can have a defence of his European, maybe two and fight him at the end of this year, beginning of next.

Yes Clev by next year after several good fights could be ready to enter Johnson standard but he is still a very long way away from being a title contender....unless he gets the eurobum route with the WBO or something.

Clev has been facing guys infinetly less talented than anything near Euro level sao a big jumo like this would be a mistake.

also i get the feeling Warren is not going WBO route with Clev. He will get him another belt, and go for the WBO with Bellew. Then he has a unification.

Cleverley will be no more talented in a years time than he is now, or from when he emerged from his mother for that matter...all he will be is a little more seasoned. Seasoning is good, but if he just fights stiffs for another year he will learn absolutely nothing, in fact fighting sub-standard opposition will make him lazy and he may well regress . Get him Johnson and let Frank buy him the very best sparring that he can afford (get Woods involved :deal, why not? ), he will learn more in those sessions than he ever will fighting a procession of "eurobums".

Johnson would be a good fight for Clev. Johnsons tenacity might undo him but if he's got the talent he could do it.

Its a great fight to make, 22 year old up and comer against a double hard ******* old man :deal Johnson would probably be prepared to travel to the UK, and Frank could have a semi-mega event on his hands (semi-mega...you know what I mean :thumbsup )

Exactly. Johnson needs a couple of paydays at the tail end of his career and Frank can give him one. There's no need for Clev to make fortunes at this stage so Johnson can get a decent wedge and come over and fight.

It's a better fight than most that seem to be out there at the minute.

In the grand scheme of things (or in any scheme of things really) - what the **** does the WBO intercontinental title mean?

This is certainly a good enough fight for a title eliminator.... make it happen!

Kell Brook is fighting for it

and i will bet that clev will go for it pretty soon

I do not want to see him fighting bums. But unless he improves alot then he will find his night very hard and with a disapointing end against Johnson. Clev needs to fight boxers who are actually around European level first and not more Brancalion types.

Would be a fantastic way of going through with things. If only things were that clear cut:good
