i saw this fight live at the time, and like every other englishman was caught up in the wave that was hatton, he stopped 2 world champs, floored a ww champ and cruised to a points win. that was how i saw it at the time.

today is the first time i rewatched the fight and actujally scored it. i think hatton won, but it was close. here is my card

    hatton-collazo

    10-8
    10-9 (swing round)
    10-9
10-9 (huge collazo punched changed momentum but too late in round)
    9-10
    9-10
9-10 (hatton finished strong but collazo won first 2 minutes)
    10-9
    10-9
    9-10
    10-9
    9-10

as you see i have it 7 rounds to 5 in favour of hatton. 115-112.

i could see rounds 2 and 4 being in favour of collazo but i think my coring was fair.

in no way was this a robbery. a very close fight that could've gone either way.

also a very good action fight, which usually dont get the credit it deserves.

Hatton beat Collazo, it was in no way a robbery.

  3. Too bad the KD wasn't legit. Collazo beat the hell out of Hatton in that fight. Hatton's face was busted to ****.

Maybe he did (IMO he didn't), but beating the hell out of someone doesn't win a boxing match, it wins a street fight.

Don't have my scorecard, but I had it 114-113 for Collazo.

Hattons face is quite often bust **** when he goes 12 rounds, regardless of the opponent. Very close fight, although Hatton edged it IMO.

Well prior to the knockdown, Ricky had been holding Collazo's head down with his forearm and Luis was off balance because of it. Before Collazo could regain his balance..he was immediately tagged and dropped with a left hook. So I can see where he's coming from. Though you can't be mad at Ricky for taking advantage.

But there were at least two instances, particularly in the 12th, where Hatton was visibly rattled from punches and went down that probably should have been ruled knockdowns.

Collazo won. That's why Floyd agreed to fight him, he saw Hatton slipping, vulnerable to left hands and useless at 147.

I always wish hatton had stayed at 140 rather going to 147 for fights like this

rubbish, you could rule out half the close quarters knockdowns in history based on this sort of analysis

    Collazo lost fairly easy.
Hatton is just the superior fighter.

I scored it for Ricky at the time..He nicked enough rounds in the end..but he was not the better fighter that night.

How was it not a legit knockdown he was on his back, he might not have been hurt but he was still knocked down from a connected punch its Collazo`s problem for not being in balance.

what an utterly ******ed thing to say. :blood
