Martinez is good but I don't know many fighters @ 160 who can stand up to Pavlik's punches. Pavlik has something to prove and I will be surprised if he doesn't get the KO or stoppage.

Either Martinez wide UD or Pavlik KO. its basically a coin toss on this one so I'm undecided.

Looks like Kelly is starting to have a little more trouble taking off weight. Not sure if it is just the cold weather around here or if his metabolism is catching up to him.

Monday afternoon, less than seven weeks from fight night. Loew knows his fighter looks strong but he also knows Pavlik looks thick. Pavlik spent the past few months playing sports and lifting weights. He vacationed in California. He looks strong and healthy.

He also looks like someone who’s going to struggle to make the 160-pound middleweight limit. Loew would like to train for a few weeks in Florida but Pavlik views that as a last resort.

Loew: “We’re going to get the rubber suit out.”

Pavlik: “The rubber suit is pointless. All you do is sweat.”

Loew: “That’s what I want you to do.”

 

They will be drawing a chalk outline around Martinez when the fight is over. :yep

 

Interesting. I always thought KP found it quite easy to get down to 160 and often came in comfortably under, which was part of my rationale for hoping he'd stay there for most of his career. Perhaps he's just been downing some extra nosh on holiday.

They had a little interview piece on pavlik last night on the local station and he did look alittle heavier than normal. But doesnt everyone pack alittle on during the cold winter months? Hopefully he has no problem shedding it but who knows if its going to be an ongoing battle.

 

He is definately not 160 in those pictures. Maybe he is already getting ready for Lucian.
