I would like to see peoples opinions on the dude.

How do you rate him at heavyweight?

How do you see him doing against Overeem?

Where would a win at Overeem put him in the heavyweight standings?

Not sure he will recover well from this. :D

I really don't think he's done anything to deserve a ranking really although he did ok against Fedor. Strikeforce isn't matching him easily. He also lost his last fight whilst Fedor won. Fedor is the best. Rogers is getting a title shot. wtf.

i honestly see him possibly ko'ing or tko'ing overeem.

i see him making a full mental recovery from the fedor loss, whats there to be ashamed of? he was beat by the P4P GOAT no shame in that and he dosent seem like the type of guy who dwells on a past loss judging by his post fedor interviews.

I like Brett Rogers and hope he goes places.

He smashed Arlovski in moments and there is no shame in losing to Fedor, even by stoppage.

He might not be the most skilled heavyweight around, but he's tough and hard to keep on his back, with solid striking and a hell of a lot of power.

His wrestling is probably his biggest weakness, so it's probably for the best he's in the DREAM/Strikeforce stable and not the UFC.

Im not a fan of Brett Rogers but he is a good fighter. I think stopping Arlovski as quick as he did proved how dangerous he was vs high level oppostion. Yes Fedor put him to sleep but he handled himself well he cut Fedor, avoided some submissions, landed good solid GNP at one point. Rogers performed as good agianst Fedor as anyone has probablly since Cro Cop. I like Overeem in this though, Overeem is a better techniqual and well rounded striker. Overeem has improved stamina since moving to Heavyweight(PEDs to) which used to be his biggest problem.

Rogers is not top ten heavyweight material. I don't rate him highly at all. I didn't consider him a legitimate contender to Fedor's throne and the fight results bore that out. I suppose he earned his ranking by sparking Arlovski who went into Affliction as a UFC castoff and loser of his trilogy to Tim Sylvia which puts him out of the rankings altogether. So Rogers' ranking was based on what exactly? Beating James Thompson?

He is a big, strong, tough guy that can punch. He lasted as long as he did against Fedor because of the early cut resulting in copious blood loss and a loss of traction during the grappling exchanges - allowing Rogers to flop around and out of the danger zone of Fedor's submissions.

He's probably fringe top 10 in my book. A win over Arlovski is still a top quality win I think but not enough to solidify a place in the top 10. Overeem would KO him I think. Overeem has excellent technical striking and just as much power. He'd pick Rogers apart and knock him out.

The same can be said of Overeem. I actually don't mind this matchup, it shouldn't be for the title though.

    hard to tell what he's worth...maybe he's a can..maybe he's a gatekeeper..maybe he's a legit contender...

Only thing we know is that it took him 22 seconds to finish Arlovski.

  9. I rate him after the Fedor fight. Sounds stupid but he definitely manned up for the experience, i'd like to see him continue his career against more evenly matched fighters.

He did fine against Fedor. Most someone has shown me in a loss in a while, actually. I think he beats most of the heavyweight division. Overeem kinda negates a lot of his strengths though, so that'll be tough.

    You are correct.

I was talking about at heavyweight. He hasn't beaten anyone good for a long time. At least Rodgers beat Arlovski and put up a decent showing against Fedor.

Rogers strengths are his size and power on his feet. Overeem is a great striker and probably the biggest man in the world.
