    Just a random comparison.

Both Mosley and Tszyu were in their mid 30s. Tszyu was the legit champ at 140 while Mosley wasn't at 147. Mosley had been more active and less injury-prone than Tszyu, and did more (2nd best win of his career) afterwards, while Tszyu never fought again.

    Which win was more impressive?

Hatton over Tszyu quite easily. It was definitive, for one.

    Cotto over Mosley.

Tszyu was near shot when he fought Hatton, and Tszyu is another boxer who has been criminally overrated for all of his career.

Id' take Cotto's over Mosley. To me the Hatton fight was just too ugly to watch. KT was done, got worked over by Hatton, which was ignored by the ref and on hostile ground. He should have responded in kind to Ricky's tactics, and for not doing so he is at fault. It is a fight after all. Although ,Cotto/Mosley was close, Mosley had more in the tank than KT and IMO was a formidable opponent at the time.

Agree on that. I think that a victory over an inactive Tszyu is less impressive than one over Mosley at that time but Hatton takes it on the nature of the victory.

I know that people obvect to the way Hatton won in terms of style but the way he out lasted Kostya that night was an impressive feat, Hatton walked through fire in that fight.

Do you not feel that he did? Remember Kostya landed several low shots before Ricky landed that huge intentional one (which left me unsure whether I should whince or laugh), I wouldn't say Kostya gave as good as he got in terms of rough-housing but it wasn't a one way street

YEAH. Kostya was shot to all hell. SURE. That's why his punches still had snap and speed. That's why he was the betting favorite. That's why he fought like a lion round after brutally taxing round until his pattern of getting in the ring once a year caught up to him. The kind of pressure and intensity Hatton brought that night would have overwhelmed all levels of fighters at all stages of their careers. Hatton ate some horrendous shots to get inside. He had a ****ing buffet of them. Gotta love the 20-20 hindsight. Trinidad was too small... I know... I know... Tyson never had any chance against Holyfield... I know... I know... Mosley was going to destroy Margarito... I know... I know... See you in 2012. Kostya thought what most people thought. Hatton would walk into his right hand and he'd be at a bar somewhere drinking with Russell Crowe soon afterward. No such luck.

I can see it argued both ways. So much so, that I don't know how to answer.

Kosta retired after that fight, Mosley will be in the biggest fight in boxing in 2010 (baring a Pac Floyd showdown in september) and is going in as the #1 Welterweight.

Tzsyu had just come off a long lay off but had also just disposed of Mitchell, the number one contender in an impressive fashion. So much so that most thought he would walk through Hatton.

Ricky took it to another level that night. He took some bombs and never stopped coming forward. He was very good indeed.

Cotto for me had the beating of Shane and whilst it was a great victory, I slightly favour Hatton's win over Tzsyu.

That's paper thin seeing as how Mosley looked subpar against both Cotto and Mayorga. Call it Richardson, call it hot and cold fever. Not to mention the fact that Cotto/Mosley was damn close. Controversial to some. No time machines in 2007. None now.

Tszyu was Ring #3 P4P at the time, really was a massive win for Hatton.. and he made him quit.

Although Cotto's win was good, i remember it being pretty close on scorecards.. 3 points maybe? And i'm sure Mosely wasn't ranked top 10 at this time ? So gotta go with Hatton/Tszyu.

20-20 hindsight... Can't see. Cotto was the favorite. Hatton was the underdog.
