Looks like it is an end of a great boxing career.

No suprise really because it seemed that he couldnt get any fights in heavyweight division.

I hope he can make some money and does well in MMA fights.

Wonder who he will fight first time out. More than likely they will put him in with stand up fighters so he is not all washed up after a couple of fights. I think Cro Cop or Kongo would be my choice of opponent.

Why would they give a **** about building him up. There gonna chuck him in there with a guy thats gonna smash him to bits in 30 secs.

This is all about Dana White being able to say "MMA beats Boxing"

I wonder what hes paying him becuase i dont think a UFC fighter has ever made more than a million for a fight, and Toney will have got 7 figures multiple times.

Cant think of a Boxer less suited to MMA.

I'm sure his "Multi fight deal" includes a clause where him getting destroyed in his first fight makes it nul and void.

Toney wont get more than about 60k either

yeh if you were going to put a boxer in it would be a straight shoot-out artist that throws bombs like Haye or Valero. Maybe a Pascal.

someone like Toney whos main talent is his incredible defence. pointless.

He talked himself into a contract. Ridiculous really. James Toney is old and fat and has been for a while. ****ing Petes outboxed him. He has become flat footed and slow. His stamina isn't great either, only his mind, skills and durability allow him to last.

Like Briggs and Mayorga I hope he can dedicate himself but if they couldn't do it in boxing, you have to wonder if they can really do it in MMA. I hope so cos they are all very talented fighters.
